But this little gem on Boulevard Carnot turned out to be exactly what Cannes needed more of: a proper apartment that doesn’t cost your firstborn and actually gives you space to breathe.

The terrace is what sold me, and honestly, it’s the kind of spot where you’ll end up having your morning coffee every single day. It’s not huge – I mean, you’re not throwing dinner parties up there – but it faces away from the main boulevard traffic, so you get this surprisingly peaceful vibe while still being right in the thick of things. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than hotel-sterile, which I actually loved. There’s real kitchen space (not just a sad mini-fridge situation), and the bedroom stays cool even when it’s blazing outside, which… if you’ve been to Cannes in July, you know that’s not a given.

What really works about this place is the location knowledge you sort of stumble into. You’re on Carnot, which locals actually use to get around – it’s not some tourist trap street. There’s a decent boulangerie about two blocks down that opens ridiculously early, and you can walk to the Palais in maybe eight minutes if you’re not dawdling (the “10 minutes” they advertise is pretty accurate, but I’m a fast walker). The real insider thing though? You’re positioned perfectly to skip the waterfront crowds when you want to actually get somewhere. During festival season, that Boulevard de la Croisette turns into absolute chaos, but from Carnot you can duck through the side streets and suddenly you’re wherever you needed to be without fighting through the red carpet madness. Parking was… well, it’s Cannes, so street parking is always an adventure, but there’s a public garage about three blocks away that won’t bankrupt you. The building itself is quiet – I was worried about street noise, but the windows are decent and honestly, by 10 PM even Boulevard Carnot settles down. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward, none of that “meet me at this random corner with exact change” nonsense you sometimes get with apartment rentals.
