The apartment itself is surprisingly spacious for the area – two proper bedrooms, which is honestly rare to find this close to the action without paying resort prices. The decor has that effortless French thing going on, nothing too fancy but everything just works together. What I really appreciated was how lived-in it felt, not like those sterile hotel rooms where you’re afraid to touch anything. The kitchen actually has proper coffee cups (not those tiny espresso thimbles), and there’s enough counter space to spread out your croissants from the boulangerie down the street – Maison Forville, by the way, don’t bother with the touristy spots on the main drag.

Here’s the thing about the location that the booking sites don’t tell you: while you’re close enough to hear the festival buzz when things get crazy, the street itself is surprisingly quiet at night. I was worried about noise since it’s so central, but honestly, I slept better here than at some of those “luxury” places right on the water where you get sirens and party boats until 3 AM. The walk to the Palais des Festivals takes maybe three minutes if you’re wearing heels, and you’ll pass this little wine shop – Cave du Suquet – where the owner actually knows his stuff and won’t try to sell you the most expensive bottle just because you look like a tourist.

Getting around is pretty straightforward too, though fair warning: parking in this area is basically a contact sport during festival season. But there’s a decent public garage about two blocks away on Rue d’Antibes, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car anyway. Everything worth doing is walkable, and the train station is close enough that day trips to Monaco or Nice are totally doable. The check-in was smooth – no standing around in some fancy lobby while they “prepare your experience” or whatever. Just keys, quick rundown of the WiFi password, and you’re sorted.

Look, this isn’t going to be your Instagram-perfect infinity pool situation, but if you want to actually experience Cannes instead of just posing in front of it, this place gets it right. You’re close enough to stumble home from La Chunga at 2 AM, but far enough from the tourist traps that you might actually run into some locals at the morning market.
