— The hotel
2-Br Apartment in City Center
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to 24 rue Pasteur, I wasn’t expecting much from what’s basically labeled as a “2-bedroom apartment.” But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building itself has that classic French charm without being stuffy about it, and honestly, the location is pretty much perfect if you want to experience Cannes without paying those ridiculous beachfront hotel prices.
What really sold me on this spot was how genuinely livable it feels. I mean, you’ve got two proper bedrooms (not those weird hotel setups where one “bedroom” is just a curtained-off area), a kitchen that’s actually functional – like, you can cook real meals here, not just reheat croissants – and the whole place just feels like someone’s well-maintained apartment rather than a sterile rental. The furnishings are nothing fancy, but they’re comfortable and clean, which honestly matters more than having gold-plated faucets. The Wi-Fi worked perfectly fine for video calls, if that’s your thing, and the shower pressure was actually decent, which… well, if you’ve stayed in older French buildings, you know that’s not always a given.
Here’s the thing about the location that really makes this place work – you’re literally a five-minute walk from La Croisette, but you’re not paying for that address or dealing with the constant tourist chaos right outside your door. Rue Pasteur is one of those streets where you’ll see actual locals doing their grocery shopping and walking their dogs, but you can still pop over to see the film festival madness or grab dinner at those fancy harbor restaurants whenever you want. The morning walks to the bakery on rue d’Antibes became sort of a ritual for me, and there’s something really nice about feeling like you’re living in Cannes rather than just visiting it. I should mention though – parking can be a bit of a headache during festival season (honestly, everything is), but the rest of the year it’s manageable. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 10 PM, which was perfect for me, but if you’re looking for non-stop nightlife right outside your window, you might want to stay closer to the port area instead.
