Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Cannes over the years, and honestly? This villa on Boulevard Delaup is something special. The moment you pull up to Villa Romance – and yes, you can actually pull up because there’s proper parking, which is basically gold in this city – you realize this isn’t your typical hotel situation. It’s more like staying at a friend’s incredibly well-appointed place, if your friend happened to have impeccable taste and a serious thing for terraces.
The whole setup is refreshingly honest about what it is: a three-bedroom space that’s been thoughtfully designed for people who want to experience Cannes without the stuffiness of the palace hotels down by the Croisette. I mean, those places are gorgeous, but sometimes you just want to sprawl out, you know? Here, you’ve got room to breathe, and that swimming pool – well, it’s not huge, but it’s perfectly positioned to catch the afternoon sun, and there’s something deeply satisfying about having a morning coffee on one of those terraces while the rest of the city is still waking up. The AC actually works properly too, which might sound basic but trust me, during those sweltering July weeks when the mistral isn’t blowing, you’ll appreciate that attention to detail.
What really gets me about this place is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re far enough from the festival chaos that you can actually sleep (the streets around here quiet down nicely after midnight), but close enough that a fifteen-minute walk gets you to all the action. The local boulangerie on Rue d’Antibes is phenomenal – grab their pain aux raisins – and there’s this little wine shop nearby where the owner actually knows what he’s talking about. The terraces give you these glimpses of the Mediterranean between the buildings, and in the evening when the light goes all golden, you sort of understand why people get obsessed with the Côte d’Azur. It’s not just the glamour thing, it’s these quiet moments between the spectacle. The whole place feels lived-in rather than staged, which is refreshing when you’re in a city that can feel like one big photo opportunity. If you’re planning to stay during festival season, book early – places like this that actually deliver on comfort and space fill up fast, and honestly, once you’ve experienced having your own pool and proper kitchen after a long day of festival madness, going back to a cramped hotel room feels almost barbaric.
