You’re right there in La Californie – which honestly feels like Cannes’ best-kept secret if you ask me – and the Mediterranean just spreads out in front of you like someone’s personal postcard collection.

The apartment itself is one of those perfectly imperfect places that somehow works better than hotels twice the price. It’s a proper 4-person setup on Boulevard Vallombrosa (the building entrance is a bit tricky to spot – look for Entrée B, not the main door), and while it’s officially rated 3 stars, it punches way above its weight. The kitchen actually has everything you need, which is rarer than you’d think, and there’s something satisfying about making your morning coffee while watching the early joggers on the Croisette below. The bedrooms are that sweet spot of cozy without being cramped, though I’ll be honest – the traffic noise from the boulevard picks up during the day. Nothing terrible, just… Cannes being Cannes.

Here’s the thing though – location wise, you’ve struck gold. You’re tucked up in the residential part that most tourists never see, where actual Cannois live and where the bakeries still close for proper lunch breaks. It’s maybe a 12-minute walk down to all the festival madness and yacht-watching, but far enough up the hill that you escape the crowds when you want to. Parking is street-side and free after 7pm (learned that the expensive way), and there’s a little Monoprix about 5 minutes away that locals actually use. The host was refreshingly straightforward during check-in – no overselling, just practical info about WiFi passwords and which beach clubs give decent day rates. That 9-rating makes complete sense when you factor in the price point and that view – I mean, I’ve paid more for windowless rooms in the old town. If you’re planning to actually spend time in the apartment rather than just crash between beach sessions, this is your spot.

  The location of the apartment is exceptionally good. The restaurants of the old town are located just a few hundred meters away. The walk to the beach takes less than 10 minutes and the route to festival palace is not very much longer and you can take a bus if you don't want to walk. There is a shop nearby.
  The apartment is spacious and has two large bedrooms. It is a good accommodation for 4 persons.
  From the balcony you have a great view to the sea.
  The bathroom is modern and the apartment is clean.
  
  What could be improved: We were the first group to stay in the apartment, and the apartment didn't have very good cooking equipment yet.
