À 1km Plage du Midi et Palais des Festivals – Appartement Centre Cannes avec Cour Extérieur Privée
You know what struck me first about this place? The name is absolutely ridiculous – I mean, who puts their entire selling point in the title like that? But honestly, they’re not wrong. This apartment really is just a kilometer from Plage du Midi, and you can actually walk to the Palais des Festivals in about ten minutes if you don’t mind a little uphill stroll along Avenue de Grasse.
The private courtyard is what sold me though. I’ve stayed in plenty of Cannes apartments where you’re basically stacked on top of each other, but having that little outdoor space – even if it’s not huge – makes such a difference. You can actually have your morning coffee outside without feeling like you’re performing for the neighbors. The apartment itself is pretty straightforward, nothing fancy but everything works. The location on Avenue de Grasse puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk everywhere but far enough from the Croisette chaos that you can actually sleep at night. During festival season (which, let’s be honest, is when most people care about Cannes), you’ll hear some noise from the street, but it’s not the all-night party madness you get closer to the beach.
What I really appreciated was how the owners clearly know their stuff about the area. They left notes about which boulangerie opens earliest (crucial information), where to find parking that won’t cost you a fortune, and honestly the best route to avoid the tourist crowds when you’re heading to the beach. The walk to Plage du Midi is actually pleasant – you pass through some residential streets where you see how locals really live, not just the postcard version of Cannes. And here’s something most people don’t realize: Plage du Midi is way less crowded than the beaches right by the hotels, especially in the mornings. The apartment’s rating of 9 out of 10 seems about right to me. It’s not luxury – this is clearly a 3-star situation – but it delivers exactly what it promises without any nasty surprises. The check-in was smooth, everything was clean, and the wifi actually worked properly (you’d be surprised how often that’s not the case). I mean, you’re not getting marble bathrooms or a concierge, but you’re getting a real slice of Cannes life with that private outdoor space and a location that locals would actually choose.
