You know what struck me first about A 2 pas de la croisette? The name isn’t just cute marketing speak – it’s literally accurate. I mean, you can actually walk to the Croisette in about two minutes, maybe three if you’re dragging luggage. The hotel sits on Avenue de Grasse, which honestly sounds fancier than it looks, but that’s sort of the charm here. It’s this quiet residential street that feels refreshingly normal after all the glitz you see closer to the beach.
The building itself is classic Cannes – that cream-colored facade you see everywhere, but well-maintained in a way that tells you someone actually cares about the place. Check-in was surprisingly smooth (I was expecting typical French bureaucracy, but the staff switched to English without that slightly annoyed look you sometimes get). What really won me over was how they knew the neighborhood – when I asked about parking, they didn’t just point to the nearest garage but actually explained which streets have free spots after 7 PM and which ones to avoid during market days. That’s local knowledge you can’t fake.
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 3-star, but there are thoughtful touches that bump it up a notch. The AC actually works well, which – trust me – matters a lot during Cannes summers. Windows are properly soundproofed too, because while Avenue de Grasse is quieter than the main drags, French drivers still love their horns. I stayed on the third floor and could barely hear the street noise, though you’ll catch snippets of conversation from the café terrace across the way in the evenings (honestly, it’s kind of charming). The bathroom was recently updated – you can tell because the fixtures actually match and the shower has decent water pressure.
What really sets this place apart is the staff’s approach to recommendations. Instead of handing you a generic tourist map, they’ll tell you that the bakery two blocks down makes the best pain au chocolat in the neighborhood, or that if you want to avoid the Croisette crowds, there’s a lovely coastal path that starts just past the Majestic. They know which restaurants are tourist traps versus where locals actually eat (hint: walk inland a few blocks). The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you experience this level of genuine helpfulness.
Location-wise, you’re perfectly positioned – close enough to walk to all the festival glamour and beach clubs, but far enough away that you can escape the chaos when you need to. The train station is about a 10-minute walk, which is clutch if you’re planning day trips to Nice or Monaco. There’s a Casino supermarket practically around the corner for supplies, and the Wednesday market on Rue Forville is an easy stroll.
Look, this isn’t going to be the fanciest place you’ve ever stayed, but it gets everything right that actually matters. Clean, comfortable, genuinely helpful staff, and a location that gives you the best of both worlds – proximity to the action without being stuck in the middle of it. For a 3-star in Cannes, that’s honestly pretty impressive.

Our host/owner Bruno met us at the apartment, helped bring in the bags, explained all of the details of the apartment and gave us some great restaurant recommendations. The apartment is very large, beautifully decorated & furnished, fully equipped kitchen, fantastic location, easy walking right near to all of the shopping, dining and sights of Cannes. The large parking lot across the street made parking our car a breeze. We highly recommend the apartment and plan on staying there again soon.

Absolutely stunning apartement, beatiful interior design, very comfortable bed, equipped with everything that was needed. Very central location, just a few minutes walk to the train station, shopping street, beach and old town. Hosts were extremly amicable and the check in was very smooth. Parking at Vaubaun is a bit finicky, use St. Nicolas if travelling with a bigger car.
