— The hotel
A quelques minutes de la Croisette – 8 pers
Honestly, when I first walked up to this place on Boulevard Carnot, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside – it’s one of those typical Cannes apartment buildings that looks pretty standard until you get inside. But here’s the thing about this spot: it’s actually perfectly positioned if you know Cannes at all. You’re literally a five-minute stroll to the Croisette (hence the name), but you’re tucked away from all that tourist chaos on the main drag. I mean, you can still hear the occasional late-night reveler, but it’s nothing like trying to sleep right on the waterfront during festival season.
The apartment itself sleeps eight people, which honestly works better than you’d think – there’s enough space that you’re not stepping on each other constantly, and the kitchen is actually functional. You know how some vacation rentals have those tiny kitchenettes that barely fit a coffee maker? This isn’t that. We managed to cook actual meals here, which saved us a fortune since eating out in Cannes every night can seriously drain your wallet. The decor is… well, let’s call it practical rather than Instagram-worthy, but everything works and it’s clean. The beds are decent enough, though the street-facing rooms do get some traffic noise in the morning – nothing too crazy, just the normal sounds of a city waking up.
What I really appreciated was how the host handled everything. Check-in was smooth, no weird complications or hunting around for hidden key boxes. And being on Carnot means you’re close to those little local spots that tourists usually miss – there’s this bakery about two blocks down that does incredible pain au chocolat, and the small market nearby actually has reasonable prices for basics. The walk to the beach takes maybe seven minutes if you’re not in a rush, and you’ll pass some genuinely good restaurants that aren’t tourist traps. During festival time, you’ll definitely hear more commotion, but honestly, that’s part of the Cannes experience. The rest of the year, it’s pretty peaceful. Look, it’s a solid three-star place that does what it promises – gets you close to everything without the premium location prices, and gives you enough space to spread out with a group. Just don’t expect luxury touches or concierge service.
To book a hotel in Cannes during the famous Cannes Film Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts celebrities and film industry professionals from around the world.
