— The hotel
Agence des Résidences – Appartements privés du 45 CROISETTE- Prestige
You know what surprised me most about this place? It’s not actually a hotel at all – it’s private apartments managed by Agence des Résidences, which honestly makes way more sense once you’re there. I mean, you’re literally living on Boulevard de la Croisette, probably the most famous stretch of real estate on the French Riviera, and these aren’t some cramped hotel rooms trying to maximize profit per square foot.
The building itself has that understated French elegance thing going on – not flashy like some of the mega-hotels further down the Croisette, but you can tell it’s quality. The apartments (and I stayed in what I’d guess was originally someone’s actual residence) have proper kitchens, which is clutch if you’re like me and can’t handle eating out for every single meal. Plus, there’s something pretty satisfying about grabbing fresh stuff from the Marché Forville in the morning and actually cooking it. The whole setup feels more like you’re borrowing a friend’s really nice place than staying in tourist accommodation. Check-in was refreshingly low-key too – none of that overly formal hotel lobby dance you usually get in Cannes.
Location-wise, well, you’re on the Croisette, so you’re obviously golden. But here’s the thing people don’t always realize – being right in the thick of it means festival season is absolutely bonkers (I’m talking May, obviously), and even regular summer weekends can get pretty intense with the foot traffic. The flip side is that you can stumble home from dinner at La Palme d’Or or drinks at one of the rooftop bars without dealing with taxis or that slightly sketchy walk back from the old town. The beach clubs are right there – though honestly, the public beaches are just as nice and won’t cost you a day’s salary for a lounger. If you’re here outside peak season (which I’d actually recommend), you get all the glamour with way fewer crowds and that gorgeous winter light the Côte d’Azur is famous for. The rating of 8.5 feels about right – it’s genuinely excellent without being perfect, and the four-star classification makes sense since you’re getting the location and space of a luxury property without all the bells and whistles you might not actually want anyway.
Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Cannes through local agencies that offer personalized recommendations and insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for exploring the city’s rich cinematic heritage.
