Hotel Description

You know what’s funny about B&B Villa Blanche? I almost walked right past it the first time – tucked away on this quiet little dead-end street called Impasse du Roc, it feels more like stumbling onto someone’s elegant family home than finding a hotel. Which, honestly, is exactly what makes it so special. The whole Carnot neighborhood is this perfect sweet spot where you’re still technically in Cannes (about a 15-minute walk to the Croisette if you’re feeling ambitious), but you’re away from all that Boulevard de la Croisette madness. I mean, don’t get me wrong, the glitz is fun for a day, but coming back to Villa Blanche each evening felt like having a local friend who just happened to have impeccable taste in interior design.

The place has this understated French elegance that actually feels authentic – none of that over-the-top trying-too-hard vibe you sometimes get in Cannes hotels. The owners clearly know what they’re doing; everything from the morning coffee (proper French press, thank god) to the way they handle reservations just works smoothly. What really got me was the attention to small details – like how they leave the windows open just enough so you wake up to actual fresh air instead of recycled hotel AC, and the fact that they stock the kind of toiletries you’d actually want to use. The rooms vary quite a bit in size and layout, which makes sense since it’s a converted villa, but that’s part of the charm. I stayed in one of the upper floor rooms and could actually see a sliver of the Mediterranean if I craned my neck just right from the little balcony.

Parking was surprisingly hassle-free – they’ve got a small lot that’s included, which is honestly worth its weight in gold if you’ve ever tried to park anywhere near central Cannes during festival season. The neighborhood itself is residential and quiet (you’ll hear the occasional scooter, but this is France, so that’s just life), and there’s a decent little bakery about two blocks down on Avenue Francis Tonner that becomes your morning routine pretty quickly. The 9.5 rating makes total sense once you spend a few days there – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place on the Riviera, but everything just works the way it should. If you’re the type who wants to experience Cannes without feeling like you’re living inside a tourist brochure, Villa Blanche hits that sweet spot perfectly.

Cannes hotels range from charming boutique properties in the historic Le Suquet district to elegant palace hotels and modern luxury accommodations along La Croisette Boulevard.

Comfortable, stylish and spotlessly clean, this B&B is tucked away in a surprisingly leafy area off a main road. The walk to the station is 20 minutes I checked.! The included breakfast was plentiful, with eggs in various formats for those who want a cooked breakfast. Erik’s restaurant recommendations were spot on.

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike

Very amazing. Host is good. Breakfast is amazing!!
    Hosts are super friendly. 🙂

What could be improved: Located on the hill so cannot walk to city center, but we took cars around and that was fast easy and affordable.

We had a wonderful stay here during our last-minute trip to Cannes. We booked the trip to celebrate out 10th wedding anniversary and see the boats at the yachting festival very last minute and were pleasantly surprised to see Villa Blanche had a room available and great reviews. I'm always a little bit anxious about the truthfulness of the reviews but was extremely pleased to realise that they were all very much accurate!

We stayed in the garden annexe in a lovely large room. It was SO quiet and peaceful and the shutters allowed us to have blackout sleeping conditions. A fantastic A/C unit that was efficient and quiet was a big bonus. The bed was so comfortable and I think my husband is already trying to find out where to buy the sheets since he loved them so much.

Breakfast was fantastic. The couple who run the B&B are kind, charming, and very hospitable. They make a delicious breakfast and the breakfast room is lovely.

The location is, in my opinion, amazing. It's about a 15-minute walk from the train station "up" and away from the town centre – a very easy walk! I prefer staying a bit out of the centre as it can feel quite crowded and noisy in town. The Villa was such a peaceful retreat to return to. There are also easy buses if you don't want to do the walk but we never minded it in the slightest.

I would 100% stay here again and recommend it to anyone. We are likely to be back for the film festival next year and this will be my first port of call when planning!

    What could be improved: Nothing.

The owners of the Villa are exceptional and very helpful. The room was very comfortable and beautiful designed. The location is a perfect to explore either the east or west Côte d’Azur. Also north-west Provence is easily accessible. We recommend the place for a mid term stay with great atmosphere. Delicious breakfast. Safe parking.

  • Matteo from Italy – 14 July 2024 (10/10)

  • Mandar from United States – 12 June 2024 (10/10)

The host are very warm. The breakfast was homemade by them and it was execellent. The croissants and cakes they made were melting in mouth, the fried/scrambled eggs were icing on the top. They were very helpful in suggesting the execellent places around the french riviera like Eze village, St. Paul De Vence, Grasse, Antibes which were not part of our itinerary, we visited the first three and they are must-must see. The rooms were quite cozy, clean and had anythign that were needed. The daily cleaning servive was amazing too.
