I mean, you’re still close enough to walk to the beaches (honestly, about a 10-minute stroll), but you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of scooters and street performers that can drive you nuts if you’re trying to actually relax.

The whole setup feels more like staying at someone’s well-appointed home than a typical hotel. That pool they mention – okay, it’s not going to win any Instagram contests, but after spending a day getting sand between your toes at Plage du Martinez, there’s something really satisfying about having your own little spot to rinse off and cool down. The water’s actually warm enough to enjoy, which isn’t always a given with hotel pools along the Côte d’Azur. What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to create these little pockets of privacy around the property – you can find a quiet corner to read without feeling like you’re on display.

The neighborhood itself is pretty great for getting a feel for actual Cannes life. There’s a boulangerie about two blocks down that locals line up at every morning (the pain au chocolat is worth the early wake-up call), and you’ll find yourself walking past the same café terraces where people are having their petit déjeuner and reading Le Figaro. It’s that authentic French rhythm you hope to stumble into but rarely do when you’re staying right in the tourist zone. Parking can be a bit tricky – well, it’s Cannes, so that’s sort of expected – but the streets around here aren’t as impossibly crowded as they get closer to the port. During festival season, honestly, forget about driving anywhere, but the rest of the year it’s manageable. The train station is close enough that you could easily hop over to Nice or Monaco for a day trip, which is actually one of the smartest ways to see the region without constantly packing and unpacking your suitcase. I’d say this spot works really well if you want to experience Cannes without feeling like you’re trapped in a postcard – you get the beaches, the atmosphere, that particular golden light that makes everything look like a movie set, but you also get to see how people actually live here.
