Hotel Description
You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from C062 Appart when I first walked up Boulevard Carnot – honestly, the name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, and apartment-style hotels can be hit or miss. But this little place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The building sits right on one of Cannes’ main drags, which I thought might mean traffic noise all night, but the windows are surprisingly good at keeping things quiet (well, except during the film festival madness, but nothing’s saving you from that chaos anyway).
What really won me over was how functional everything is – I mean, this isn’t some fancy palace hotel, but whoever set this place up actually thought about what travelers need. The kitchenette isn’t just for show; you’ve got proper counter space and decent appliances, which comes in handy when you realize eating out in Cannes every meal will drain your wallet faster than you’d like. The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in the city rather than just visiting it. You’re a quick walk from the old port where locals actually hang out (not just the touristy harbor area), and there’s this little morning market on Forville that most visitors miss – it’s maybe ten minutes on foot, and you’ll find better produce than anything near the Croisette.
I’ve stayed here twice now, and both times the check-in was smooth – no standing around waiting for someone to appear at the desk, which has happened to me at fancier places in town. The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. There are those small touches that show someone cares: good lighting for actually reading at night, enough plugs near the bed for your devices, a shower with decent pressure. Sure, the décor isn’t going to win any design awards, and the elevator makes this slightly concerning grinding noise, but everything works properly. During my spring visit, I could hear the neighbors upstairs occasionally, but it wasn’t disruptive – just the normal sounds of people living their lives. The summer stay was quieter, probably because everyone’s out until late anyway. What I really appreciate is that you’re positioned perfectly between the train station and the center – you can walk to both without breaking a sweat, and if you’re planning day trips along the coast, that proximity to Gare de Cannes is clutch. Plus, you’re close enough to the action that you can stumble home after dinner without needing a taxi, but far enough from the Palais des Festivals that you won’t get caught up in red carpet crowds unless you want to.
