Look, I’ll be straight with you about this place on Rue Meynadier – it’s honestly one of those finds that grows on you. First impression? Well, you’re basically living above one of Cannes’ busiest pedestrian streets, which sounds crazy until you realize it’s actually perfect. I mean, you’ve got the Festival Palace literally five minutes away (and I timed it), plus you can hear the Mediterranean if you lean out the window just right.

The apartment itself is pretty solid for what you’re paying. That one bedroom is actually roomy enough that you don’t feel cramped, and thank god they’ve got proper AC because Cannes in summer is no joke. The setup works well if you’re here for the film festival or just want to be in the thick of things without paying those insane Croisette hotel prices. You know what I really appreciated? The kitchen is functional enough that you can grab fresh stuff from the morning market on Forville (about a three-minute walk) and actually cook something decent. The building’s got that typical French apartment vibe – nothing fancy, but it feels authentic rather than touristy.

Here’s what you need to know about the location though – Rue Meynadier is where locals actually shop and eat, not just the tourist crowds. During the day it’s buzzing with energy, fantastic for people-watching from your window, but it does quiet down at night more than you’d expect. Parking is honestly a nightmare in this part of town (welcome to Cannes), so if you’re driving, prepare to walk a bit from wherever you find a spot. The 7.3 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises. The place is clean, the host responds quickly, and you’re positioned perfectly to explore both the glamorous side of Cannes and the real everyday French life happening right outside your door. I actually found myself spending more time wandering the old town behind the apartment than lounging on the famous beaches, which tells you something about how this location pulls you into the actual rhythm of the city.

  Pascal was a brilliant and communicative host, and picking up the keys was very easy. The apartment was clean and well equipped, with tea and coffee which was a nice personal touch. It also had a desk which was very useful when travelling for work. Pascal allowed me to leave bags a little bit later on check out day, which was very kind and helpful during my work trip.
  
  What could be improved: The air conditioning was very noisy during the night, and there was another quite loud intermittent noise during the night which sounded like water draining, but I couldn't be sure. The shower is also quite small so it would be useful to have a little shelf to hold toiletries, so you don't have to struggle bending down. The surrounding area was quite noisy at night as it's near some bars – but to be expected in central Cannes!

  Gute Lage in der Altstadt, geräumiges Zimmer mit guter Ausstattung. Durch die Lage in zweiter Reihe sehr ruhig.
  
  What could be improved: Gut dass es eine Klimaanlage gab, jedoch gab es jede Minute ein knarzendes Geräusch, was im leichten Schlaf gestört hat. Das Bad war sehr klein, die Dusche eng. Im TV nur französische Sender, aber das nur nebenbei.
