Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places along the Côte d’Azur, but this apartment on Rue Campestra honestly caught me off guard – and I mean that in the best way possible. You know how sometimes “panoramic sea view” ends up being a sliver of blue water if you crane your neck just right? Well, forget that disappointment because this place delivers exactly what it promises. The moment you walk in, those floor-to-ceiling windows just hit you with this incredible sweep of the Mediterranean that stretches all the way to the horizon. I actually found myself just standing there for a solid five minutes on my first morning, coffee in hand, watching the early ferry chug toward the Îles de Lérins.

What really got me was how thoughtfully this place is set up – it’s clearly been designed by someone who actually understands what travelers need, not just what looks good in photos. The kitchen has proper knives (you’d be amazed how rare that is), the shower has incredible water pressure, and there’s this perfect little balcony where you can have breakfast while watching the yachts parade in and out of the old port. The Carnot neighborhood itself is sort of this sweet spot that a lot of tourists miss – you’re maybe a twelve-minute walk to La Croisette and all the festival madness, but far enough up the hill that you escape the crowds and actually get some peace in the evenings. I loved being able to grab fresh bread from the boulangerie on Rue d’Antibes in the morning, then retreat back to this serene spot above it all.

Honestly, the only tiny thing I’d mention is that if you’re not used to French apartment buildings, the entrance might seem a bit understated – don’t expect a fancy hotel lobby with marble and doormen. But once you’re inside, the space feels surprisingly luxurious and spacious, with these beautiful high ceilings and elegant furnishings that feel more like staying at a stylish friend’s place than a rental. The bed was incredibly comfortable (I’m picky about mattresses), and the whole apartment stays surprisingly cool even during those scorching July afternoons when Cannes turns into an oven. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this part of town – I’d recommend asking about nearby options when you book – but honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t want to leave anyway. The view changes throughout the day in this magical way, from soft morning pastels to that incredible golden hour light that makes the whole coastline look like a postcard. It’s the kind of place that makes you understand why people fall in love with the French Riviera in the first place.
