You’re literally a three-minute walk from all the Boulevard de la Croisette chaos, but Rue Rouaze itself is this quiet little street where you can actually sleep at night without hearing drunk tourists stumbling back from the casino at 2 AM. I mean, you’ll still get the occasional delivery truck in the morning – it’s France, after all – but nothing like what you’d deal with if you stayed right on the waterfront. The apartment itself feels properly lived-in rather than sterile hotel-ish, which I love. Two proper bedrooms, not those weird European hotel rooms where one “bed” is actually a pull-out couch situation, and the bathrooms are genuinely spacious. You know what really got me? The train station is close enough that day trips to Nice or Monaco are totally doable, and the local buses actually run on time, which still surprises me after years of Mediterranean travel. During festival season this whole area gets pretty intense – I stayed here in May once and the energy was incredible but exhausting – but in the shoulder seasons it’s got this perfect balance of sophisticated without being stuffy.
