Charming apartment – Near the Old Port and Suquet

You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from this little apartment tucked away on Rue de la Rampe, but honestly, it completely won me over. The location is just… perfect, really. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Old Port where all those gorgeous yachts are moored, and the Suquet district – that’s the historic old town perched on the hill – is right there too. The narrow cobblestone streets leading up to the old church give you those classic French Riviera vibes without feeling too touristy. And here’s the thing most people don’t realize: this particular street is actually pretty quiet, even during the festival madness in May. The apartment sits just far enough from the main drag that you won’t have drunk tourists stumbling past your window at 3 AM, but close enough that you can walk to everything.

The apartment itself has this lived-in charm that I actually prefer to those sterile hotel rooms. It’s got character – the kind of place where you can tell someone put thought into the details rather than just ordering everything from a catalog. The kitchen is small but functional (I made coffee every morning and even attempted some local market finds), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works properly. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been hit by a truck, which, let’s be honest, is sometimes a gamble with vacation rentals. What really impressed me was how clean everything was – I mean spotless – and the Wi-Fi actually worked reliably, which is more than I can say for some fancy hotels I’ve stayed at.

The neighborhood really makes this place shine though. There’s this little bakery just around the corner on Rue Saint-Antoine where locals queue up for their morning pastries – skip the tourist traps near the Palais des Festivals and grab your croissants there instead. The walk down to the port takes you past some genuinely good restaurants (not the overpriced ones right on the waterfront), and if you’re into people-watching, the morning market scene is fantastic. Parking can be tricky around here – well, it’s Cannes, so parking is always an adventure – but there’s a public garage about a ten-minute walk away that won’t completely destroy your budget. I stayed here during shoulder season in September, and it felt like I had my own little slice of the French Riviera without the summer crowds crushing every café terrace. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places that just gets the basics right while giving you that authentic Cannes experience you can’t get from the big chain hotels.

  The apartment was very spacious and in a fab location! It took approx 20 minutes to walk to Le Croisette. The beds were comfortable and both showers were great.
  
  What could be improved: There was no long mirror, which as a group of girls, was very missed! Also no elevator and has steep stairs.

  What could be improved: The apartment was lovely and conveniently located near the city center. Aleksandra, the representative, was extremely professional and made us feel very welcome. She was also very receptive to all our queries.
  
  The only drawback was the significant number of stairs leading up to the apartment, which proved challenging with heavy luggage.
  
  Despite this, I recommend this property and give it a 8 out of 10 for overall charm, location, and the excellent service by Aleksandra.
