Everything feels authentic rather than staged for Instagram, if that makes sense. The morning light comes in really nicely, which matters more than you’d think when you’re trying to ease into vacation mode with your coffee. You’ll hear French conversations on the street instead of just tourist English, which – I don’t know, it just feels more authentic. Evenings are pretty quiet too; the party crowd tends to stay closer to the port area, so you can actually sleep with the windows open when the weather’s nice. The 10 rating honestly makes sense when you consider you’re getting genuine local flavor at a 3-star price point in one of the most expensive cities on the French Riviera. It’s not trying to be the Carlton or the Martinez, and that’s exactly why it works.
