You know what struck me first about this place? The name is absolutely terrible – CLOSE CROISETTE-MODERN-A/C-CONGRESS-BEACHES sounds like someone fed a hotel booking algorithm too much caffeine. But honestly, don’t let that put you off because this little gem tucked away on Impasse des 2 Églises is actually pretty fantastic.

I mean, finding it takes a bit of detective work since it’s literally squeezed between two churches (hence the street name), but that’s part of what makes it special. You’re staying in this quiet residential pocket that most tourists never stumble across, yet you can walk to the Croisette in maybe eight minutes – I timed it after a few glasses of rosé one evening. The apartment itself is on the first floor, which in France means one flight up, and there’s no elevator, so pack light if you’re hauling big suitcases. The A/C works brilliantly though, which is honestly a godsend during Cannes’ sticky summer months when even the locals are wilting.

What really gets me is how this place nails the whole “live like a local” thing without trying too hard. The modern renovation is tastefully done – none of that IKEA-catalog sterility you get in some vacation rentals. There’s actual character here, with these lovely old shutters that block out the morning light completely (perfect for festival season when you’re stumbling home at 3 AM). The kitchen is properly equipped too, not just for show, which matters because there’s this incredible little marché just around the corner where vendors actually remember your face after a few visits. You’ll hear church bells throughout the day from the neighboring églises, but it’s charming rather than annoying – sort of like having your own personal Cannes soundtrack.

The location is genuinely brilliant once you understand the neighborhood. You’re far enough from the Palais des Congrès chaos to sleep peacefully, but close enough that you can pop back for a siesta between conference sessions. The beaches everyone obsesses over are a pleasant stroll away, and here’s the insider tip – there’s a small public beach access point nearby that the cruise ship crowds never find. During the film festival madness, when hotel prices go absolutely bonkers and you can’t get a decent room for under €400 a night, this place stays relatively sane. That 9.2 rating makes perfect sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be the Carlton or the Martinez, but for what it is, it’s pretty much spot-on. The host responds quickly to messages, check-in is smooth, and you get that rare feeling of staying somewhere that actually cares about your experience rather than just processing another booking.

  Really nice apartment – bright, comfortable, sufficiently large, in a very nice building on a quiet street. Fully equipped kitchen with coffee, tea and all necessary for light cooking. Little balcony for morning coffee. Check-in and check-out were very smooth, and the owner is very nice and helpful

  A wonderful large apartment, with a spacious living room. The kitchen is fully equipped. We had everything we needed. Great hot baths. Quiet, birds singing and trains in the distance passing by, a sense of the sea nearby, a magical place. Close to everything. Julien met us at the arrival and was very welcoming, friendly and helpful. 10/10
