You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Croisette Escape based on the name alone – honestly, it sounds a bit like a vacation rental trying too hard. But this little 3-star spot on Rue des Serbes actually surprised me in the best way. The location is absolutely clutch if you want to be in the thick of things without paying Croisette prices. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute walk from all the Cannes action, but tucked away on this quieter side street where you can actually get some sleep at night.

The whole setup feels more like a boutique guesthouse than a typical hotel, which I loved. The air conditioning works like a dream (crucial in July, trust me), and the wifi is solid – I was working from there for a few days and had zero issues with video calls. The rooms are clean and functional rather than fancy, but honestly that’s exactly what you want when you’re spending most of your time exploring the city anyway. What really won me over was how the staff seemed to genuinely know the area. The guy at reception told me about this amazing little café on Rue Hoche that I never would have found otherwise, and he was spot-on about which beaches get too crowded after 11am.

Here’s the thing about the location that really matters – you can walk to the Palais des Festivals in about eight minutes, but you’re also close enough to the old town (Le Suquet) that you can grab dinner somewhere with actual locals instead of just tourists. Parking is typical Cannes nightmare stuff, but there’s a public lot about three blocks away that’s way cheaper than hotel parking. The 7.7 rating feels about right to me – it’s not going to blow you away with luxury, but everything works, it’s clean, the location is killer, and the price point makes sense. I’d definitely stay there again, especially during festival season when everywhere else jacks up their rates to ridiculous levels.

  It is in a very handy location – near the station and the city most shopping/restaurants area.
  
  What could be improved: It is on the 4th floor, with no lift. Lucky my luggage is not very big, but I had some problems with my feet.

  Great Location, very close to beach and all shops.
  
  What could be improved: Internet wasn’t available. Despite best efforts from host trying to fix it we couldn’t use TV and kids broadband.

  The location is excellent. Right beside the train station and access to restaurants/shops/beach was very close by. The property owner was very responsive to messages online etc.
  
  What could be improved: The entryway and stairs up to the apartment were not very clean. The first thing you see is rodent boxes (Thankfully no rodents though!) I know that that is not the fault of the property owner but it does not give a very good first impression..
  
  The steps up to the bedroom are very steep and unsteady. It requires somebody to be quite fit and agile to use!
