You know what caught me off guard about this place? The name is honestly terrible – “Fantastic sea view for this 2 bedroom up to 6 people 327” sounds like someone’s rushed Airbnb listing – but don’t let that fool you because this apartment is actually something special. I mean, once you’re standing on that terrace looking out over the Mediterranean from Avenue du Docteur Raymond Picaud, you’ll forget all about the clunky name. The sea view really is fantastic, and I’m not just saying that because it’s literally in the title.
The location is what makes this work so well. You’re tucked away on this quiet residential street that most tourists never find, but you’re still close enough to walk to the Palais des Festivals in about fifteen minutes (I timed it). The building itself has that classic Riviera feel – you know, the kind with the wrought iron balconies and shutters that actually work. Inside, it’s surprisingly spacious for Cannes, where every square meter costs a fortune. The two bedrooms are properly sized, not those shoebox affairs you often get in French coastal towns, and honestly, the whole place feels more like a real home than a rental. The kitchen’s got everything you need if you want to grab fresh stuff from the Marché Forville – which, by the way, is walking distance and absolutely worth the early morning trek for the best tomatoes you’ll ever taste.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. This part of Cannes doesn’t have the late-night party noise from the Croisette, but you’re not stuck out in the suburbs either. The building’s solid – none of that paper-thin wall nonsense where you hear every conversation next door. Parking can be a bit tricky (it’s Cannes, after all), but there are spots along the avenue if you’re patient, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you might not want to drive much anyway. The 9.6 rating makes perfect sense when you experience the whole package – it’s one of those places where the photos don’t lie, the host clearly cares about details, and you end up wanting to book your next trip before you’ve even checked out. The terrace becomes your morning coffee spot and your evening wine spot, and those sea views… well, they never get old, even after a week of staring at them.
