Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Grand Hotel on Boulevard de la Croisette, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. I mean, you’re literally steps from where all those fancy Cannes Film Festival photos get taken, so I figured it’d either be overpriced tourist trap territory or completely underwhelming. Turns out I was wrong on both counts.

The thing about this place is that it gets the fundamentals right without trying to be something it’s not. The studio rooms are actually thoughtfully designed – not huge, obviously, but whoever planned them understood that people staying here want to be out exploring Cannes, not hanging around their room all day. What really surprised me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re right in the thick of everything. The Croisette can get pretty rowdy during festival season (and honestly, most summer weekends), but somehow the rooms stay peaceful. I’m guessing it’s the building design, because you’d think being this close to all the action would mean zero sleep.

Here’s what I really appreciate about the location – you can walk to the Palais des Festivals in literally three minutes, but you’re also just a quick stroll from some of the better local spots that aren’t completely tourist-focused. There’s this little café around the corner on Rue d’Antibes where locals actually go for coffee, and you’ll stumble across it just by wandering. The hotel staff seemed to know these kinds of places too, which is refreshing. During my stay, the woman at reception gave me directions to a market that I never would’ve found otherwise – not the touristy Marché Forville that everyone talks about, but a smaller one where you can grab decent produce without paying festival prices. You know what else? Parking is actually manageable here. Not cheap, but manageable, and in this part of Cannes that’s saying something. I’ve stayed at places where you’re circling blocks for thirty minutes just hoping to find a spot that won’t cost more than your room.

The 8.7 rating makes sense once you’ve been there a few days. It’s not trying to compete with the Martinez or the Carlton – those massive hotels you see in all the movies – but it delivers on what it promises. The check-in was smooth, the room was clean and functional, and honestly, when you’re spending your days wandering around Cannes and your evenings people-watching from the beach, you just need a solid base. Which is exactly what this is. If you’re the type who needs a huge bathroom or room service until midnight, look elsewhere. But if you want to wake up, grab coffee, and be on the beach or exploring the old town within minutes, while actually being able to afford dinner after paying for your room, this works really well.

  The lady was very polite, helpful and kind. It was pleasure to communicate with her. The organisation with the keys was perfect. She was asking every day, do we need something . I felt absolutely perfect with her service. The location of the property is the best in Cannes. The value for money is amazing as well! Downstairs in the yard , there is a hotel restaurant, where you can have 5 star breakfast.
