Hotel Description
So I stumbled across this IMMOGROOM place on Avenue Alexandra last summer, and honestly? It’s one of those finds that makes you feel a bit smug about your booking skills. The name is pretty clunky – I mean, what even is “IMMOGROOM” supposed to mean? – but don’t let that throw you off because the actual apartment is surprisingly solid.
First thing you notice walking in is how genuinely modern everything feels, not that fake-modern where they just slap some chrome on outdated furniture and call it contemporary. The air conditioning actually works (trust me, this matters in Cannes during July), and the terrace – well, that’s where this place really shines. You’re basically a five-minute walk from all the Croisette madness, but up here you can actually breathe. I spent most mornings out there with coffee, watching the city wake up before the festival crowds descended. The WiFi is solid too, which saved me when I had to jump on some work calls – you know how it is, vacation doesn’t mean the world stops spinning.
What I really appreciated was the location specifics that most people miss. Avenue Alexandra puts you right in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the fancy beach clubs and the Palais des Festivals, but you’re not dealing with the street noise and chaos of being directly on the Croisette. The little Monoprix down the street becomes your best friend for grabbing essentials, and there’s this bakery – I think it’s called something like Boulangerie des Palmiers – maybe three blocks away that does these incredible pain au chocolat. Actually saved me a fortune compared to hotel breakfast prices.
The apartment itself feels lived-in rather than sterile, if that makes sense. Sure, it’s only rated as a 3-star and honestly the 7/10 rating seems about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury touches, but everything works as advertised. The shower has decent pressure, the bed is comfortable enough that I wasn’t counting sheep, and the whole space stays surprisingly cool even when it’s blazing outside. Parking can be a bit of a headache in this area (welcome to Cannes), but there’s usually street parking if you’re patient, or a paid lot about a block away if you’re not.
I guess what sold me on the place was how it felt more like staying in someone’s actual apartment rather than a hotel room that’s been sanitized of all personality. You’ll hear some street sounds – it’s a city, not a monastery – but nothing that kept me awake. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that awkward “where exactly do I go” dance you sometimes get with apartment rentals. Would I book it again? Yeah, probably. It’s got that practical charm thing going on, and sometimes that beats all the fancy amenities in the world.
Early hotels booking in Cannes is essential during major events like the Film Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned glamorous atmosphere and luxury shopping.
