You know what struck me first about Imperial Apartment by Connexion? It’s tucked on this quiet side street – Rue Gérard Monod – that most tourists walk right past, but honestly, that’s exactly what makes it special. I mean, you’re literally a two-minute stroll from all the Cannes chaos, but when you duck into this little pocket, it feels like you’ve found some secret local hideaway. The building itself has that classic French apartment vibe – think elegant but not stuffy, with those tall windows that actually open properly (thank god, because some July nights you really need that cross-breeze).

The setup here is pretty clever, actually. It’s apartment-style living, so you get a proper kitchen and space to spread out, which is honestly a game-changer if you’re staying more than a couple nights. I loved being able to grab fresh stuff from the little market on Rue Meynadier – just a quick walk down the hill – and actually cook breakfast instead of paying €15 for hotel croissants every morning. The neighborhood has this residential feel where you’ll see locals heading to work in the morning, not just tourists stumbling back from the Croisette. Plus, parking… well, it’s Cannes, so it’s never easy, but this area is way less impossible than trying to find a spot near the Palais des Festivals.

What really won me over though was how the place just works for real life. The 8.6 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be some fancy palace hotel, but everything you need is there and done well. The beds are actually comfortable (I’m picky about this), the shower has decent pressure, and there’s enough space that you’re not living out of a suitcase on the floor. During the festival season it’s probably buzzing, but I was there in September and it had this lovely, settled feeling. You can walk down to the port in about ten minutes if you want the scenic route, or cut through the pedestrian streets to hit Rue d’Antibes for shopping. Honestly, it’s one of those places where you feel like you’re staying in Cannes rather than just visiting – which sounds cheesy, but you know what I mean when you find a spot that gets the balance right between location and actually being livable.

    The apartment is big and very comfortable. It's located in the center of the city 100m from the beach and the Croisette promenade.
    The kitchen was very well equipped with everything needed for cooking (microwave, dishwasher, filter coffee machine, kettle etc.)
    2 bedrooms are located with the look on the inner yard so they are not directly exposed to the street. Beds were big and comfortable as well.
    Bathrooms were also spacious and fully functional.

    What could be improved: As the apartment is in the center of Cannes it can get noisy in the night as there is a night club just across the street. For us this was not an issue but it's worth mentioning.
    Another thing to add is that at the moment (July 2024) there is a construction site that is less than 50 m away and the dust and noise coming from there can be annoying.

    What could be improved: some furniture broken. Very dirty sofas, chairs. Sound isolation between apartments terrible (You can hear every step neighbors do). Terrible window sound isolation. till 4AM sound of bars.. from 5AM cleaning streets, etc. TW was not working – fixed in two days. No Hair dryer – delivered next day. No shampoo or shower gel. Internet slow. losing network on all devices constantly.

    Otroligt läge mitt i stan och 2 minuter promenad till stranden. Stor och luftig lägenhet med två badrum samt sovrum i olika hörn av lägenheten. Eftersom vi var en grupp vänner som reste behövde vi fler nycklar än den vi fått, vilket vår kontaktperson löste på en dag på ett bra sätt! Vi kommer definitivt tillbaka till detta boende.

    What could be improved: i divani e le poltrone sono in condizioni pietose completamente macchiati al punto da non sedersi. Abbiamo dovuto coprirle con delle lenzuola. La casa per quanto bella è completamente spoglia di tutto, Arrivando alla sera sarebbe utile trovare almeno una bottiglia di acqua da bere. Abbiamo chiesto una macchinetta per il caffe espresso che ormai si trova dappertutto, ci è stata promessa ma mai recapitata. Operatore al telefono molto disponibile e cortese ma nonostante la promessa non ha soddisfatto la nostra richiesta. Con pochi aggiustamenti è una ottima abitazione.
