Josi – 2 chambres, central, 10mn du Palais&Plages, neuf, clim
You know what caught me off guard about Josi? The name makes it sound like some quaint little pension, but when you walk into this place on Rue Jean Daumas, it’s actually this sleek, modern setup that feels like someone just finished decorating it yesterday. I mean, everything’s spotless and new – the kind of place where you’re almost afraid to touch the pristine white walls at first.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to feel like you’re living in Cannes rather than just visiting. Jean Daumas is this quiet residential street that most tourists never find, but you’re literally a ten-minute stroll from both the Palais des Festivals and the beaches. I loved that I could walk to the Croisette for my morning coffee, then come back to this peaceful little bubble away from all the cruise ship crowds. The apartment’s on the second floor – no elevator, just so you know – but it’s not a killer climb or anything.
What really sold me on this place was the air conditioning (trust me, you’ll need it in summer) and the fact that you get two proper bedrooms. Most places in central Cannes either cost a fortune or stick you in some cramped studio, but this gives you actual space to spread out. The kitchen’s small but functional – I made breakfast there most mornings and picked up groceries at the Monoprix just around the corner on Rue d’Antibes. The whole setup feels residential rather than hotel-y, which I actually prefer. You’ve got neighbors going about their daily lives, the occasional scooter puttering down the street, but none of the touristy chaos that hits the main drags.
Honestly, the 9.5 rating makes sense once you stay here. It’s not fancy in a five-star hotel way – there’s no concierge or room service or marble bathroom – but everything just works exactly like it should. The shower has proper pressure, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out, the beds are comfortable, and you can actually open the windows at night without street noise keeping you awake. During festival season this kind of place would probably cost three times as much and still be worth it, but I was there in September when Cannes goes back to being a real city instead of a movie set, and it felt like I’d found this perfect little secret.
Apartments in Cannes provide travelers with an authentic local experience, allowing them to shop at traditional Provençal markets and cook with fresh ingredients from the renowned French Mediterranean culinary traditions.
