LB Vacation Rentals I Big Loft 107m2, 10min Walk to Palais des Festivals
Honestly, when I first climbed up to the third floor of this Vallombrosa building, I wasn’t sure what to expect from a vacation rental with such a long name – but wow, this loft really delivers on space. You know what strikes you immediately? The sheer size of the place. 107 square meters translates to actual room to spread out, which is pretty rare in Cannes unless you’re dropping serious cash on one of those fancy Carlton suites.
The location is actually perfect if you’re here for the film festival or just want to be close to all the action without being right in the middle of the tourist chaos on the Croisette. That ten-minute walk to the Palais des Festivals is no joke – I timed it, and it’s more like eight minutes if you walk at a normal pace down Boulevard Vallombrosa. You’ll pass some great little cafés along the way, including this tiny bakery that locals hit up for morning croissants (the owner barely speaks English, but the pastries speak for themselves). The neighborhood feels more residential, which means you can actually get some sleep at night – something I definitely couldn’t say about my last stay near the port area where scooters buzz around until 2 AM.
What really won me over was how the space actually lives. The loft setup means you’ve got these high ceilings that make everything feel airy, and there’s enough room for a proper suitcase explosion without tripping over your stuff every five minutes. The kitchen is surprisingly well-equipped – I mean, you can actually cook a real meal here if you hit up the Forville market (about a 15-minute walk, but worth it for the produce). The building itself is typically French, meaning you’ll get your workout hauling luggage up those stairs, but honestly, after a few days of festival food or beachside rosé, you’ll appreciate the built-in exercise. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area – there’s street parking but it fills up fast during festival season, so maybe factor that in if you’re driving. The 8.3 rating feels about right to me; it’s not luxury but it’s solid, comfortable, and the value is definitely there compared to what hotels charge during peak Cannes season. If you’re looking for space to actually live in rather than just crash, and you don’t mind being a short walk from the festival madness instead of right in it, this place makes a lot of sense.
