Hotel Description
You know what struck me first about Le Chabaud? It’s actually on the third floor of this classic Cannes building on Rue Chabaud, and honestly, that turned out to be perfect. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of Cannes city center – I could walk to the Palais des Festivals in maybe eight minutes, and the main shopping drag along Rue d’Antibes was right there. But being up on the third floor meant I wasn’t dealing with all the street noise that comes with staying right in the thick of things. The entrance is pretty understated (I almost walked past it the first time), but once you get up there, it feels like this little hidden gem that locals probably know about but tourists might miss.
The place has this authentic French charm that you don’t get in those big chain hotels along La Croisette. It’s a proper 3-star spot, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or anything fancy, but everything was genuinely well-maintained and thoughtfully set up. What really impressed me was how the owners – and I’m pretty sure they actually live nearby because they knew everything about the neighborhood – had this attention to detail that made the whole experience feel personal. They told me which boulangerie on the street below had the best croissants (turns out they were right), and when I mentioned wanting to avoid the tourist crowds at the beaches, they pointed me toward some quieter spots that even my guidebook didn’t mention. The room itself was compact but cleverly designed, with these tall windows that let in amazing light during the day. I could actually see a slice of the Mediterranean if I leaned out just right, which felt like a bonus I wasn’t expecting.
Here’s the thing about staying on Rue Chabaud – you’re close enough to walk everywhere that matters, but you’re not paying those insane beachfront prices. I grabbed dinner at this little bistro literally around the corner one night, and it was better than half the restaurants I’d tried closer to the port. The whole area has this lived-in feel where actual Cannois go about their daily business, which I loved. Parking can be tricky (it’s Cannes, after all), but there’s a public garage about two blocks away that’s not too expensive by local standards. I’d definitely stay here again, especially during festival season when everywhere else is either booked solid or charging ridiculous rates. It’s one of those places where you feel like you’ve discovered something special rather than just booked a room, if that makes sense.

Reviews
Very nice stay, quick check in and check out and good agent guidance! – Merlin from Germany – 19 July 2025 (10/10)
It was located very central between all important event sites, and the access was very easy. Internet was very good and the kitchen and living room very practical. At night it was rather quiet and the room had good cooling. Shower water was warm very fast and there were enough sockets in the room for charging phone, camera and laptop.
