— The hotel
LE FELIX au cœur du centre-ville, emplacement idéal pour loisirs ou congrès
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first saw LE FELIX tucked away on Rue Félix Faure, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in the heart of Cannes. But you know what? Sometimes the best discoveries are the ones that catch you off guard, and this little gem absolutely did that.
The location is honestly ridiculous – and I mean that in the best way possible. You’re literally a 3-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals (yeah, where they do the whole red carpet thing), and the Croisette is right there when you want to pretend you’re fancy for an afternoon. But here’s the thing most people don’t realize: being on Félix Faure means you’re in the actual heartbeat of the city, not just the touristy waterfront strip. There’s this amazing little bakery two doors down that does these almond croissants that’ll ruin you for life, and the morning market on Forville is close enough that you can smell the fresh herbs and flowers from your window on market days. The street itself has that perfect buzz – busy enough to feel alive but not so chaotic that you can’t sleep at night.
What really got me about LE FELIX was how the staff actually seemed to care about making your stay work. I mean, finding parking in central Cannes is usually like solving a Rubik’s cube blindfolded, but they genuinely helped sort that out without the usual French shoulder shrug. The rooms aren’t huge – this is old-town Cannes, after all – but they’re thoughtfully done with these little touches that show someone was actually thinking about what travelers need. The air conditioning works (crucial in summer), the Wi-Fi doesn’t make you want to throw your laptop out the window, and honestly, the beds are way more comfortable than you’d expect. I actually slept better here than at some of those overpriced palace hotels down on the Croisette where you’re paying for the marble lobby more than anything else. The bathrooms are compact but well-designed – you know, the kind where everything has its place and actually makes sense.
Here’s what I really appreciate: this place works whether you’re here for business or pleasure. During the film festival or one of the big conventions, you’re close enough to stumble back after those endless networking dinners, but you’re also perfectly positioned to explore the real Cannes – the narrow streets of Le Suquet where locals actually eat, or that hidden beach near the old port that doesn’t cost you 30 euros for a lounge chair. The staff knows the city well enough to point you toward the good stuff, not just the obvious tourist traps. They’ll tell you which restaurants are worth the splurge and which ones are just coasting on their Croisette addresses.
The 9 out of 10 rating honestly makes sense once you stay here. It’s not trying to be something it’s not – it’s just a really solid, well-run hotel that gets the fundamentals right while throwing in enough local character to make your stay memorable. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need, especially in a city where it’s easy to get caught up in all the glitz and forget why you came in the first place.
