Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Cannes over the years, and Le Nid du Suquet honestly surprised me – in the best way possible. The name translates to “The Suquet’s Nest,” which actually makes perfect sense once you’re there. It’s tucked away on Rue Jean Joseph Méro, this quiet little street that most tourists walk right past while they’re rushing toward the Palais des Festivals. But here’s the thing – you’re literally a three-minute walk from all that chaos, yet it feels like you’ve found this secret hideaway that only locals know about.
The location is what really makes this place special, I mean, you can walk to the old town (Le Suquet) in about two minutes, and trust me, those narrow cobblestone streets up the hill are where the real Cannes magic happens. None of the cruise ship crowds bother hiking up there, so you get these incredible views over the bay without fighting for space. The beaches? Well, you’ve got your pick – the fancy hotel beaches are right there if you want to splurge on a sun lounger, or you can hit the public stretches where actual French families go. And honestly, being this close to the Marché Forville means you can grab fresh produce and local cheese for breakfast instead of paying hotel prices – though I’ll warn you, the market gets pretty hectic around 9 AM, so go early or go late.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night. You know how some places in Cannes can get absolutely nuts during festival season? This little street somehow stays peaceful, even when the Croisette is packed with party-goers stumbling around at 2 AM. The building itself has that classic French charm – think shuttered windows and that slightly worn elegance that feels authentic rather than trying too hard. Parking can be tricky (it’s Cannes, after all), but there’s actually a public lot about a five-minute walk away that won’t completely destroy your budget. The 9.5 rating makes sense when you consider you’re getting this prime location without the insane markup of the palace hotels. It’s not luxury in the marble-and-gold sense, but it’s got something better – it feels like staying in a real neighborhood where people actually live, not just a tourist bubble.
To book a hotel in Cannes during the famous Cannes Film Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts celebrities and film industry professionals from around the world.

A very cosy and quiet flat. A comfortable bed, everything you need for one person! Very nice and functional kitchen, lots of hangers for dresses, a great location!
What could be improved: Second floor with narrow staircase is challenging for taking the enormous suitcase up the stairs. The doors are old so are the keyholes so it is sometimes a bit hard to open the door!Carola from Germany – 23 June 2024 (10/10)
