Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places in Cannes over the years, and Le Saint Paul is honestly one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some sort of local code. It’s tucked away on this tiny impasse – basically a little dead-end street – that you’d walk right past if you didn’t know it was there. The Prado-République area isn’t where most tourists end up, which is actually perfect because you get that authentic Cannes neighborhood vibe without the Croisette madness.

The apartment itself is really well thought out – two proper bedrooms, two full bathrooms, which means you’re not doing that awkward dance around one tiny space if you’re traveling with friends or family. The air conditioning actually works (and trust me, you’ll need it in summer), and the WiFi is solid enough that I managed to work from there without wanting to throw my laptop out the window. What I really appreciated were the little touches that show someone who actually lives in Cannes set this place up – there’s proper storage space, the kitchen has everything you’d actually use, and the bathrooms have those European-style towel warmers that make you feel fancy even when you’re just brushing your teeth.

The location is where this place really shines, though. You’re about a ten-minute walk to the old port, maybe fifteen to the Palais des Festivals if you’re heading to the film festival area. But here’s the thing – you’re also right near some of the best local spots that most visitors never find. There’s this little boulangerie around the corner that does these incredible pain au chocolat, and the Marché Forville is close enough that you can actually shop for real groceries and cook like a human being instead of eating overpriced tourist food every meal. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet at night, which is either perfect or boring depending on what you’re after. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle – it’s Cannes, so that’s just reality – but the streets around there aren’t completely impossible like some parts of the city. I mean, you might have to walk a few blocks, but it’s not the end of the world. The building itself is typical old Cannes architecture, so don’t expect some modern glass palace, but it has character and the apartment is updated where it matters. Honestly, for the price point and the fact that you get a real apartment instead of a cramped hotel room, it’s pretty hard to beat.

Travelers should reserve a hotel in Cannes at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak May festival season when the city hosts its world-famous cinema celebrations.
