You know what struck me first about this place? The name’s a mouthful – LOFT CANNES Chaleureux with all those details tacked on – but honestly, it tells you everything you need to know. It’s one of those cozy loft-style apartments tucked away on Rue Borniol, and I mean tucked away in the best possible sense. The street’s quiet enough that you’re not dealing with the Croisette chaos, but you’re still close enough to walk to the Palais des Festivals in about eight minutes (I timed it because, well, that’s what you do when you’re hauling luggage).

The space itself has that lived-in warmth that the French do so well – chaleureux really is the perfect word for it. The air conditioning actually works, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how many places in Cannes phone it in on that front. There’s something satisfying about coming back from a sweaty afternoon wandering the old town and actually being able to cool down. The loft setup gives you more room to spread out than your typical hotel box, and the wifi held up even when I was video calling back home during peak evening hours. What I really appreciated was how the place feels like someone’s actual home rather than a sterile rental – there are thoughtful touches everywhere, from the way the kitchen’s stocked to the reading nook by the window.

Location-wise, this is where local knowledge pays off. Sure, everyone talks about being close to the festival palace, but what matters more is that you’re positioned perfectly between the action and the real Cannes. Walk one direction and you hit the beach near the Martinez – not the most stunning stretch of sand, but it’s proper Mediterranean and the water’s clean. Head the other way and you’re climbing up into Le Suquet, the old quarter where locals actually eat and the restaurants don’t automatically hand you an English menu. The morning market on Marché Forville is maybe a ten-minute stroll, and that’s where you want to grab your coffee and pastries – not from the tourist traps down by the port. I stayed here in late spring when the film festival crowds hadn’t fully descended yet, so the neighborhood still had that authentic Riviera rhythm. Even the parking situation isn’t terrible if you know to look for the public garage near Rue Georges Clemenceau rather than trying to find street spots. After bouncing around different parts of Cannes over the years, I can say this little pocket really hits the sweet spot – close enough to everything that matters, far enough from everything that doesn’t.

  Manon and Aurelien are the best hosts I’ve ever known! So friendly and easygoing, so helpful and always with a hearty smile. The Loft has beaten my expectations. Clean, modern interior, the kitchen well equipped, a bottle of Rose wine and two big bottles of water in the fridge, modern shower and 5 minutes walk to the Film festival Palais – all in all PERFECT!
