— The hotel
Luxury Apartment – Central Cannes, near Beach & Palais – LRACANNES
You know what struck me first about this place? It’s actually in one of those classic Cannes buildings where you can feel the history in the thick walls and high ceilings, but someone clearly put serious money into making it modern without losing that French Riviera charm. LRACANNES sits right on Rue d’Antibes – and I mean, if you know Cannes at all, you know this is basically the main artery where locals actually shop and eat, not just the tourist strip along La Croisette.
The apartment itself feels way more spacious than most hotel rooms you’ll find in this part of town, honestly. The kitchen is properly equipped too, which matters because – let’s be real – eating every meal out in Cannes will drain your wallet faster than you’d think. I loved that you could grab fresh produce from the little market that sets up just down the street most mornings, then actually cook something decent. The living area has these gorgeous original French windows that flood the place with that particular Mediterranean light, you know? And the noise level was surprisingly manageable considering you’re literally in the heart of everything. Sure, it gets a bit lively on weekend nights (this is Cannes, after all), but nothing that decent windows and the natural exhaustion from walking these hilly streets all day can’t handle.
What really sold me on the location – and this is something you only appreciate after staying here – is that you’re maybe three minutes from the Palais des Festivals if you’re into that scene, but you’re also perfectly positioned to duck into actual neighborhood spots. There’s this tiny wine bar called Le Comptoir that’s tucked away on a side street nearby where you’ll find more locals than tourists, and honestly, stumbling onto places like that is what makes a trip memorable. The beach access is legit too – not the fancy private club beaches (though those are close if that’s your thing), but the public stretches where you can spread out without spending €30 on a chair. Walking back from the water with sandy feet and that slightly sunburned glow, then having your own proper shower and space to sprawl out… well, it beats hotel life by a mile. The whole setup just works if you want to experience Cannes like you’re living there temporarily rather than just passing through with a suitcase.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Cannes at least two months ahead of their visit to ensure availability and secure better rates, especially during the peak May festival season when the city hosts its world-famous cinema celebrations.
