Honestly, when I first saw the address on Rue de Lérins, I thought “perfect” – and you know what, I was actually right for once. This little one-bedroom spot is tucked into one of those quiet Cannes streets that most tourists walk right past, which is exactly why it works so well. You’re literally a three-minute stroll from the Palais des Festivals (where all the film festival madness happens), but at night it’s surprisingly peaceful. I mean, you might catch some late-night chatter from people heading back from dinner, but it’s not the kind of noise that’ll keep you up.

The apartment itself feels way more spacious than you’d expect – I think it’s because they actually thought about the layout instead of just cramming stuff in. The bedroom gets great morning light, and the living area has this comfortable, lived-in vibe that makes you want to grab coffee and plan your day properly. What really got me was the kitchen setup; it’s small but everything’s there if you want to hit the Marché Forville in the morning and cook something decent. Speaking of which, that market is about a five-minute walk and honestly one of the best parts of staying in this area – the produce vendors there have been running their stalls for decades, and they’ll set you up with the perfect tomatoes if you ask nicely in terrible French like I do.

The whole Marriott branding thing is a bit confusing at first (it’s more like a well-managed apartment than a traditional hotel), but the service level is definitely there when you need it. Check-in was smooth, and they actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give useful recommendations – not just the obvious tourist spots but places like that little wine bar on Rue Meynadier that locals actually go to. Location-wise, you’re close enough to walk to the old port when you want that postcard Cannes experience, but you can also easily escape up into Le Suquet when the Croisette gets too crowded with cruise ship day-trippers. Parking can be tricky in this part of town (like everywhere in Cannes, really), but there’s a public garage about two blocks away that’s not completely outrageous price-wise. The whole setup just works – it’s that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real instead of floating in tourist bubble land.
