Look, I’ll be honest with you – Mer du Sud isn’t going to blow your mind with fancy amenities or jaw-dropping views, but there’s something genuinely appealing about this little 3-star spot right in the heart of Cannes. It sits on Rue Georges Clemenceau, which honestly is one of those streets that perfectly captures what I love about this city – you’re close enough to hear the buzz from the Croisette without paying those insane beachfront prices, but far enough away that you can actually get some sleep at night.

The thing about this place is that it just works, you know? I mean, it’s clearly part of the YourHostHelper group, so you get that reliable, no-nonsense approach to hospitality without all the pretentious stuff that some Cannes hotels pile on. The rooms are clean and comfortable – nothing revolutionary, but honestly, when you’re spending your days wandering around the old town or catching some sun at the beaches, you just want a decent bed and a good shower. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets once you close the windows, which is actually pretty impressive considering you’re smack in the city center. The staff genuinely seemed to know the area well too – they pointed me toward this little café around the corner that I never would have found otherwise, and gave me the real scoop on which beaches to hit during different times of day.

Here’s what sealed the deal for me though – the location is just smart. You can walk to pretty much everything that matters in Cannes from here, and I mean actually walk, not that “walking distance” nonsense that turns out to be twenty minutes uphill. The train station is close enough that you can easily do day trips to Nice or Monaco without the hassle, and there’s decent parking nearby if you’re driving (though honestly, you probably don’t need a car once you’re here). The 7.9 rating makes total sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it delivers on what it promises. The neighborhood has that authentic French feel too, with actual locals doing their shopping and kids playing in the small squares, which is refreshing when so much of central Cannes can feel like a tourist bubble. I’d definitely stay here again, especially during festival season when everywhere else jacks up their prices to ridiculous levels.

Early hotels booking in Cannes is essential during major events like the Film Festival, as accommodations fill up quickly with visitors eager to experience the city’s renowned glamorous atmosphere and luxury shopping.

  Location was perfect. The terrace overlooking the sea was the best feature of the property, view of the promenade, gorgeous sunsets. The apartment was clean, modern , nicely furnished, plenty of seating. 3 bedrooms with large comfortable beds, nice white bedding. There were 5 adults in our party so the 2 full baths and 2 toilets were adequate.
  
  What could be improved: A folder with information about the neigborhood, restaurants, local shops, things to do, would have been useful. Also instructions for dishwasher and cooktop which took 5 of us (2 engineers!) a few minutes to figure out. Could have used more than 1 bath towel and 1 small towel per person for 9 days. We were not sure about the parking situation. We were lucky enough to find a space in front of building everyday but once.

  AMAZING view of the Riviera. AMAZING location. So easy to get everywhere. Quieter than on the main strip around the port. We liked it here a lot more. Better for families. The little train leaves just down the road. Ferry to islands at the same spot (2 min walk). Nice boulangerie downstairs and a nice Italian restaurant as well. Very nice beach club across the road. The apartment itself was excellent but pricey. Air con and blinds are appreciated. Very good showers.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment wasn't ready when we arrived, spent ages looking for the key which wasn't there because the apartment hadn't been cleaned from the last guests (some issue with the door lock which wasn't fixed when we were there either). Was very annoying at first as we had just come from a 20+ hour flight and then had to walk around Cannes in plane clothes (tracksuit) in summer. The apartment was quickly cleaned but once we were in, the cot which I confirmed prior had not been delivered. I then had to organize my own cot, at my own expense which was extremely poor service. All they said was "I did not know". This is a lie because in the same WhatsApp conversation they confirmed two days prior that it will be there. Very poor from YourHostHelper Cannes. Luckily Floriane from Easy Baby Rental helped us out on short notice. The host did not even offer to help. The TV stations also did not work. There was an issue with the Orange box, and no terrestrial TV stations were available. I advised in WhatsApp but the host ignored it.

  The view from the terrace is indeed breathtaking. The location of the apartments is very convenient. Friendly and quiet neighbourhood.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment was dirty. The staircase floor was definitely cleaner than the floor of the apartment, wardrobe drawers were also dirty, someone else's underwear under the bed… The only a pair of towels (one big and one small for each guest) is not enough when you are staying for a longer period.

  The Location was excellent, lovely spacious balcony with fabulous sea view. Plenty of restaurants and bars around the property and directly opposite a number of public and private beaches. It was a short walk to the marina and The Croisette. The layout worked well for our mixed group of family and friends.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment was a bit dated, the bathrooms were in need of some improvements. The showers leaked and there was a broken towel rail, It could have been cleaner when we arrived. There was only one pillow per person, would have been nice to have some extras and a few extra towels too. There were a limited number of glasses in the kitchen for 6 people. One of the blinds did not work in the lounge area and the balcony door didn't lock.

  The view from the balcony is exceptional – what a wonderful start to the day!
  
  Great location with restaurants and breakfast bars to the right of the property.
  
  Literally less than a ten minute stroll to the main promenade and shops. Approx ten minutes to train & bus station.
  
  What could be improved: There was a slight issue with toilet in shower room – second toilet very noisy.
  We thought the place could probably do with a little update, some areas looking a little tatty.

  The location is definitely perfect. The owner communicates very promptly, but the agency badly takes care of the problems of clients.
  The agency was flexible to give late check out for affordable price.
  
  What could be improved: Check-in was fast, despite the fact that the keys are at different location than apartment. It was communicated in advance about staying purpose, i.e. 5 colleagues, but beds were prepared for 3 families (one bed sheet per bed). The answer of the agency was -beds cannot be separated, 3 bed sheets cost 90eur/week. After contacting via Booking.com, agency delivered additional bed linen, but not free of charge. We spent a few hours communicating about not working wifi, finally received additional WiFi gadget.
  Apartment requires maintenance, specially bathrooms, where shower cabins are leaking. Iron was broken and fixed improperly as damaged some clothes.
  The fridge was frozen, hardly opened, and had a bad smell.
  The windows are not noise proof, very noisy at night from both sides of the street.
