— The hotel
Modern apartment with swimming pool
You know what caught me off guard about this place? I was expecting some sterile modern box based on the name, but honestly, this apartment on rue Ricord Laty has way more character than most four-star spots I’ve stayed at. The location is actually pretty brilliant – you’re technically in Pointe Croisette, which sounds fancy (and kind of is), but you’re tucked away on this quiet residential street that most tourists never find. I mean, you’re still close enough to hear the buzz from the main Croisette drag, but far enough that you can actually sleep without earplugs.
The swimming pool is definitely the star here, and I get why they lead with it in the name. It’s not huge, but it’s perfectly positioned to catch the afternoon sun, and there’s something really satisfying about having a proper swim after dealing with the crowds at the public beaches. The water’s kept clean – I’m always paranoid about apartment complex pools, but this one’s well-maintained. The whole setup feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel, which I actually loved. There’s a proper kitchen that’s actually usable (shocking, I know), and the living space has these floor-to-ceiling windows that make everything feel bigger than it probably is. The modern touches work well too – good WiFi, decent air conditioning, and the shower pressure is solid, which honestly makes or breaks a stay for me.
Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to appreciate: you’re about a ten-minute walk to the main action on La Croisette, but those ten minutes take you through some genuinely charming residential streets where actual Cannes locals live. There’s this little boulangerie on the corner of rue d’Antibes that I stumbled onto during my morning coffee runs – way better than the tourist traps near the beach. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle (welcome to Cannes, right?), but there’s usually street parking if you’re willing to walk a block or two. The building itself is well-kept, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward lobby hovering you get at bigger hotels. During festival season this area probably gets pretty hectic, but in the shoulder months it strikes this perfect balance between accessible and peaceful. If you’re looking for that classic Riviera experience but want to feel like you’re living there instead of just visiting, this spot really delivers.
