One Bedroom Apartment Terrasse near the beach
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places along the Côte d’Azur, and this little apartment on Avenue de Madrid really surprised me. You know what struck me first? The fact that it’s actually ON the Croisette side of things but without the insane price tag you’d expect. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from all that Cannes glamour, but you’re tucked away enough that you’re not dealing with the constant buzz of tourists taking selfies outside your window.
The apartment itself sits on the fifth floor – and yes, there’s an elevator, thank god – with this lovely terrace that honestly makes the whole experience. I spent most mornings out there with coffee, watching the early joggers head toward the beach before the crowds hit. The space feels bigger than most European hotel rooms you’ll find in this area, and there’s something refreshing about having a proper kitchen. I actually ended up cooking a few meals using ingredients from the Marché Forville (about a ten-minute walk inland), which saved me from eating every meal at those tourist-trap restaurants near the Palais des Festivals. The bedroom’s comfortable enough, though the real star is that outdoor space – you can catch glimpses of the Mediterranean between the buildings if you position yourself just right.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, considering you’re so close to everything. Avenue de Madrid isn’t one of those main thoroughfares that stays busy until 3 AM, so you can actually sleep with the windows open and catch that sea breeze. The walk to the beach takes maybe five minutes if you’re moving slowly, and you hit that beautiful stretch of sand near the Martinez hotel – honestly one of the better sections of Cannes beach that isn’t completely overrun. Parking was easier than I expected too; there’s street parking nearby, and while it’s not free, it’s not the nightmare I was bracing for. The owner was straightforward about check-in – no drama, just clear instructions and quick responses when I had questions. It’s the kind of place that works perfectly if you want to experience Cannes without feeling like you’re staying in some sterile hotel chain or breaking your budget on one of those palace hotels that charge €500 a night just because they can.
