Hotel Description
Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places along the Croisette, and honestly? The Palais Miramar La Suite Rouge is one of those finds that makes you feel like you’ve cracked some kind of Cannes code. The name’s a mouthful – I mean, they really went all out with that title – but once you’re standing in that red suite looking out at the Mediterranean, you sort of get why they wanted to pack everything into it.
The location is absolutely ridiculous in the best way possible. You’re literally 20 meters from the beach, which sounds like marketing speak until you’re actually padding down to the water in your flip-flops before your morning coffee has even kicked in. I’ve walked that stretch of Boulevard de la Croisette probably a hundred times, and being right there in the thick of it… well, you can people-watch from your window during Festival season and feel like you’re part of the whole circus without actually having to fight through the crowds. The WiFi actually works (shocking for a French hotel, honestly), and that air conditioning – you’ll need it in summer when the Côte d’Azur decides to remind you it’s basically the Mediterranean version of an oven.
What really got me was how the place manages to feel both fancy and livable at the same time. It’s got that 3-star sweet spot where you’re not paying palace prices but you’re not exactly slumming it either. The red suite thing isn’t just a gimmick – there’s actually this warm, almost theatrical vibe that works somehow. You know what I love? In the evening, when the light hits the water just right and you can hear the gentle chaos of the Croisette below, it feels like you’re in some old French film. The kind where everyone’s perpetually elegant and slightly mysterious. Parking’s going to be your nemesis though – I mean, it’s Cannes, so that’s pretty much a given. You’ll probably end up circling the block a few times or paying through the nose for a garage, but that’s the price you pay for being this close to everything that matters. The Martinez is practically next door, all those boutiques are within stumbling distance, and if you want to escape the scene, the old town (Le Suquet) is just a pleasant walk away. I actually prefer staying here over some of the flashier places because you get the full Cannes experience without feeling like you’re trapped in a tourist bubble – though let’s be real, the whole Croisette is pretty much a tourist bubble, just a very glamorous one.
To book a hotel in Cannes during the famous Cannes Film Festival season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts celebrities and film industry professionals from around the world.
