Hotel Description
So I stumbled onto Palme d’hote almost by accident last spring – honestly, I was just wandering around Rue du Pré after a disappointing lunch nearby and noticed this unassuming little place tucked between a bakery and what looked like someone’s grandmother’s apartment building. You know how Cannes can be all glitz and ridiculous prices, but this spot feels like you’ve discovered something the cruise ship crowds haven’t figured out yet. The entrance is modest (I actually walked past it twice), but once you’re inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cares about the details here. The lobby smells faintly of lavender and coffee, not that generic hotel air freshener smell, and the woman at reception – I think she was the owner – remembered my name every single day without looking at notes.
What really sold me was the location, though I didn’t fully appreciate it until my second morning. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals, but here’s the thing – you’re far enough from the Croisette madness that you can actually sleep at night. I mean, during the film festival this probably changes, but in regular season it’s perfectly quiet. The street itself is lined with those classic Cannes apartment buildings with the shutters and tiny balconies, and there’s a little café called Le Petit Zinc right around the corner where the locals actually go for breakfast. None of that €8 croissant nonsense you get near the beach. The room I had (third floor, no elevator but honestly who cares) had this view over the neighborhood rooftops – not glamorous exactly, but real in a way that felt more authentic than staring at a bunch of superyachts.
The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid three-star – clean, comfortable beds, decent bathroom with one of those rainfall showerheads that actually works. Nothing fancy, but everything functions properly, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed. There’s free wifi that doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and they’ve got this tiny breakfast area where you can grab coffee and pastries in the morning if you’re in a hurry. Parking is the usual Cannes nightmare, but they’ve got a deal with a garage about two blocks away that’s way cheaper than the street meters. The staff speaks English well enough, though my terrible French seemed to amuse them more than anything. What impressed me most was how they handled a mix-up with my reservation – instead of shrugging and pointing to fine print, they actually solved the problem and upgraded me to a larger room without making me feel like I was asking for the moon. That 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, just doing the basics really, really well.
Hotels in Cannes offer guests the perfect blend of French Riviera elegance and modern comfort, with many featuring red carpet concierge services and private beach clubs to enhance the authentic glamorous French experience.

Perfect location in the old town (souquet), three minutes from Plage du Midi, three minutes from shopping and bistro streets, very comfortable and spacious, newly furnished and equipped with a/c and everything else you might need (including sun umbrellas), quiet and safe place, with the nicest welcome from the host, including providing us easy check-in and check-out. Everything was exceptional!

We found at Palme d'hote everything we could wish for from an accommodation:
– Excellent location in the Old historical town, close to the best restaurants, shops, 5 minutes to the beach and best attractions in Cannes: Palace of Festivals and Congresses, Promenade De La Croisette, Museum of World Explorations or the Notre-Dame de l’Espérance church.
– Modern, very clean with spacious bathroom and fully equipped apartment including washing and coffee machine, detergent, soap, beach umbrella, etc.
– For those travelling by car, a nearby parking available or even better you can park in the street if you can find free places.
– Last but not least the nicest welcome from the host Chris, with lots of information and not only, cold water and even a bottle of rose wine. We thank him once again for being so open and willing to help us with everything. All the best to you and your family!

The apartment has all the facilities for a comfortable stay but what I appreciated most was the large bathroom with a good washing machine and the fine coffee provided, very relaxing after a long trip. The host was very kind, gave us guidance on how to arrive and recommended a very good restaurant nearby.

The location is ideal if you need to get to the Palais, a quiet, neighborhood-like street in the old town, walking distance to the market, palais, restaurants. Apartment is fully equipped, everything works and is in mint condition. Bathroom is spacoius, kitchen has dishwasher and all necessary things. It is quiet at nights, and curtains + shutters allow good darkness for sleeping. I didn't find it too dark as other guests have commented. The communication with the host was super-easy and nice.
What could be improved: If you're not a 2 meter person the seats for the kitchen table are too low, especially as they sink back to the lowest position once you sit down. Reading lamps for the living and bed room would be a good addition, some pictures more on the wall would give it the final and more personal touch.
