You know what surprised me most about Villa Le Lys? It’s tucked away on Avenue Isola Bella in this residential pocket called La Californie Pezou, and honestly, I almost missed it on my first visit because the area feels more like a quiet neighborhood than typical tourist Cannes. But that’s exactly what makes it work. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk from all the Croisette madness, yet when you’re lounging by their pool in the evening, the only sounds are cicadas and the occasional car puttering down the tree-lined street. The whole setup feels like you’re staying at someone’s well-appointed family villa rather than a commercial hotel – which, given the name and vibe, might actually be the case.
The pool area is where you’ll probably spend most of your downtime, and it’s genuinely lovely without being overly fancy. I mean, it’s not going to win any architectural awards, but the water’s always clean, there are enough loungers that you’re not fighting for space (even in July, though I’d still grab one early), and the little garden around it has this lived-in Mediterranean charm with lavender and rosemary that actually smells amazing when the sun hits it. The rooms themselves are solid – think comfortable three-star territory with AC that works and bathrooms that are perfectly fine, though don’t expect marble everything. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays at night; the building seems well-insulated, and since you’re off the main drags, you’re not dealing with late-night party crowds stumbling past your window.
Here’s the thing about the location that took me a while to fully appreciate – La Californie is actually one of Cannes’ more upscale residential areas, so you’re walking past some seriously impressive villas on your way to and from the beach. The neighborhood has this authentic French Riviera feel that the hotel zone sometimes lacks. There’s a decent little café about three blocks down where locals grab their morning coffee, and if you’re willing to walk about 15 minutes, you hit the eastern end of the Croisette where it’s less crowded but still beautiful. Parking can be a bit tricky during festival season (honestly, everything’s tricky then), but the staff knows the area and can point you toward spots that aren’t obvious to tourists. The 9.1 rating makes sense to me – it’s not luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises, and sometimes that’s worth more than all the fancy amenities in the world.

Lovely apartment with good air conditioning. The setting in the grounds of an old house was really nice and the pool was very inviting. The host was very helpful.

The flat manager Mickael is excellent! Everything went very smoothly and Mickael was always available during our stay and helped us with any questions we had. The flat is well located so that everything is within walking distance.

Skøn beliggenhed i område med lokal befolkningen. Dejlig stor lejlighed som var hyggelig og i god stand. Rigtig lækker pool område. Michäel(værten) var meget hjælpsom og service mindet.

De locatie is kort bij het stad en ook aan de rand van het stad zodat je zowel snel op stap kon gaan te voeg of met de auto. Winkel en bakker op wandelafstand.

Het zwembad is prettig (ruim en goed verwarmd)
Appartement ligt in kleine residentie met mooie tuin en goed beveiligd
Host is vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Er hangt een prettige sfeer.
