Proche Croisette, Appartement 2 Chambres by Palmazur Vacances
You know what struck me first about this Palmazur Vacances apartment? It’s actually tucked away on Avenue du Parc Madrid, which honestly sounds way more intimidating than it is – you’re basically a five-minute walk from all the Croisette madness, but without the constant buzz of tourists wheeling suitcases past your window at 2 AM. I mean, when you’re staying in Cannes during festival season (or really any time from May through September), that buffer zone between you and the main drag is worth its weight in gold.
The two-bedroom setup works perfectly if you’re traveling with family or friends who actually want to hang out together. The kitchen isn’t huge, but it’s got everything you need – and trust me, you’ll want to hit the Forville market some morning and cook your own breakfast instead of paying €15 for croissants at those beachfront cafés. What really sold me on the place was the balcony situation; you get these glimpses of the Mediterranean between the buildings, and honestly, in Cannes, any sea view that doesn’t cost you €300 a night is a win. The furnishings are comfortable without being fancy – sort of that modern Ikea-meets-French-riviera vibe that actually works better than it sounds.
Here’s the thing about the location that the photos don’t really capture: you’re close enough to walk to the Palais des Festivals (maybe 10 minutes if you’re not rushing), but you’re also near some of the quieter beach clubs toward the eastern end of the Croisette. The Pointe Croisette area has this slightly more residential feel – there’s a decent grocery store nearby, and the parking situation is… well, it’s Cannes, so it’s never great, but it’s manageable. The building itself is pretty quiet; I think because it’s mostly vacation rentals rather than a hotel, people tend to be more considerate about noise. Check-in was straightforward – they meet you at the property, show you around, and actually give you useful local tips instead of just handing you a key card. The Wi-Fi works well (crucial if you’re working remotely), and the air conditioning keeps up with those sweltering July afternoons when even the locals are complaining about the heat. It’s not luxury by any means, but it’s that perfect sweet spot where you get the Cannes experience without feeling like you need to take out a second mortgage.
