Residence du Louvre – Apartments – Prime location Palais & Croisette – Luxury Stay by LRA Cannes
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Cannes over the years, but the Residence du Louvre actually surprised me – and I mean that in the best way possible. When you first walk up to 2 Boulevard d’Alsace, you’re right in that sweet spot of the Carnot district where you can feel the energy of the city without being smack in the middle of tourist chaos. You know what I loved? You’re literally a five-minute walk from both the Palais des Festivals and the Croisette, but somehow this little stretch feels almost residential. I could hear the morning bustle from the nearby cafés, but my apartment stayed surprisingly quiet even during the festival madness in May.
The apartments themselves – well, they’ve clearly put some serious thought into the details. I’m talking about things like actually good kitchen equipment (not those sad hotel kitchenettes), proper blackout curtains that work, and bathrooms with decent water pressure. The living spaces feel genuinely luxurious without being stuffy, if that makes sense. There’s this modern elegance thing going on, with clean lines and quality furnishings that don’t scream “rental apartment.” Honestly, the bed was so comfortable I overslept twice, which never happens to me when I travel. The WiFi was solid too – I work remotely sometimes, and nothing’s worse than choppy connections when you’re trying to get things done.
What really sets this place apart is how it sits in the neighborhood. You’re close enough to walk to Martinez Beach in about eight minutes, but you’re also near those little local spots that most tourists miss entirely. There’s this fantastic bakery just around the corner on Rue d’Antibes that locals actually go to, and you can grab groceries at Monoprix without dealing with the crazy markup you get closer to the beach. Parking can be a bit tricky – I mean, it’s Cannes, so that’s expected – but the LRA team was helpful with recommendations for nearby garages. The 8.4 rating feels about right to me; it’s not quite perfect (check-in took a bit longer than expected), but for the location and quality, you’re getting excellent value. If you want to feel like you’re living in Cannes rather than just visiting, this is definitely the way to go.
