You know what strikes you first about Résidence MANDARINIERS? It’s tucked away on Rue des Suisses, which honestly feels like discovering a little secret in Cannes. I mean, most people think they need to stay right on La Croisette to get the full experience, but this spot is actually way smarter – you’re maybe a seven-minute walk from all that glitzy waterfront action, but without the constant buzz of traffic and cruise ship crowds that can drive you nuts by day three.

The building itself has this lovely residential feel that’s totally different from those big chain hotels. It’s got character, you know? The kind of place where you’ll hear actual French conversations drifting from neighboring balconies instead of tour groups planning their next Instagram shot. The apartments – because that’s really what they are – feel like someone’s well-appointed home rather than a sterile hotel room. I really appreciated having a proper kitchen, especially since the local markets are incredible (there’s this little produce guy on Rue Meynadier who’ll change how you think about tomatoes forever). Plus, honestly, eating out every meal in Cannes will absolutely destroy your budget.

What really gets me about this place is how it nails that sweet spot between being close enough to everything but far enough away to actually sleep. You can walk to the Palais des Festivals in ten minutes if you’re catching a film screening, or hit the morning market at Marché Forville without dealing with tourist bus schedules. The neighborhood has this authentic feel – you’ll see locals walking their dogs, kids heading to school, that sort of real-life stuff that makes a trip feel less like you’re in a travel brochure bubble. Parking can be a bit tricky (welcome to the French Riviera), but there are spots if you know where to look, and the staff actually gives useful advice instead of just shrugging.

I’ll be straight with you – this isn’t where you go if you want a concierge arranging yacht rentals or a rooftop pool for sunset cocktails. But if you want to live like you actually belong in Cannes for a week, rather than just visiting it, this is your spot. The 9.6 rating makes total sense once you’re there – everything just works the way it should, without any fuss or pretense. It’s the kind of place you end up recommending to friends because you know they’ll thank you for it later.

  Modern fixtures and air con. Great location and car park which is busy but always able to work a spot with cooperation with other users. Quiet at night and a balcony with a view of the church and tower.

  First of all the upgrade! It turned out there had been a flood in the apartment we booked, so Ramune had organised a wonderful upgrade for us. The apartment we ended up in was fantastic and perfect for our stay!
  
  The space is light and airy and was spotlessly clean. We particularly loved the super-comfortable beds, having ensuite bathrooms to ourselves, and having a balcony with a great view over Le Suquet down to the sea. Ramune was there to meet us making check-in very easy and the modern kitchen well stocked for all our needs. Altogether a great experience! Thanks to our hosts!!

  Great apartment on good location just above old Suquet.
  
  What could be improved: There could be better curtains and the bathroom is quite oldschool basic. Shower by hand in the bathtub

  Wir hatten 3 Schlafzimmer und jedes Schlafzimmer hatte ein eigenes Badezimmer. Sehr komfortabel.
  
  What could be improved: Es hat etwas viele Autos die bei der Unterkunft parkiert waren, der Platz ist etwas knapp. Wir hatte Glück hatte bei der Ankunft jemand einen Parkplatz frei gemacht. Bei der abreise hatte und ein Fahrzeug zugeparkt das wir nicht abreisen konnten. Die Situation mit dem Parkieren könnte optimiert werden.
