Honestly, the Residence Saint Marc caught me off guard in the best possible way. I mean, when you’re walking down Boulevard d’Alsace – which, let’s be real, isn’t exactly the most glamorous stretch in Cannes – you might wonder what you’ve gotten yourself into. But here’s the thing: this three-star gem sits in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters without paying those insane Croisette prices.

The location is actually brilliant once you figure it out. You’re in the Prado-République area, which sounds fancy but is really just where actual people live and work in Cannes. It’s maybe a 12-minute walk to the Palais des Festivals (I timed it), and you’ll pass some seriously good local cafés along the way – the kind where they know your order by day three. The train station is practically around the corner, which is clutch if you’re doing day trips to Nice or Monaco. And you know what? The noise level is surprisingly reasonable. Sure, you’ll hear some traffic from the boulevard, but it’s nothing like those hotels right on the main drag where delivery trucks start rumbling at 5 AM.

What really won me over was how the staff actually seemed to care about the details. Check-in was smooth – no pretentious attitude, just helpful people who knew their stuff about the area. The rooms have this clean, unfussy vibe that feels more like a well-maintained apartment than a typical hotel. Nothing groundbreaking, but everything works properly, which is honestly refreshing after some of the “charming” places I’ve stayed where the shower pressure was basically a gentle mist. The 8.4 rating makes total sense when you consider you’re getting solid comfort without the tourist-trap markup. During festival season (which, let’s face it, is when Cannes prices go absolutely mental), this place becomes even more of a find. I stayed in May, and while other hotels were gouging like crazy, the Saint Marc kept things reasonable – well, reasonable for Cannes anyway. The neighborhood gets lively in the evenings but not rowdy, and there’s something refreshing about being around locals grabbing dinner instead of just other tourists comparing camera equipment. Plus, if you need groceries or forgot something, there are actual shops nearby instead of just overpriced hotel boutiques selling €15 bottles of water.

  Very good location-6mins walk to beach. Free spacious parking. No personal check-in/check-out: you get the keys from a locker at the fence. Owner is very helpful and responsive via Whatsapp chat.
  
  What could be improved: Could have been cleaner. The elevator in the building is super small, less than 1m2. With a big luggage you won't fit in. With child trolley, you won't fit in either.

  We like how big the space is for our toddler to move around and that there were enough storage to put our stuff away from our sight. The location is a plus, the resident itself is in a quiet neighborhood, not noisy at all in the building, next to the train station and centre.

  L'appartement est Très bien situé, à 10 min à pied de la Croisette et la plage.

  What could be improved: Le bâtiment est ancien, L'ascenseur est trop petit maximum 2 personnes, c'était très compliqué avec les affaires pour aller à la plage par exemple, fallait prendre l'ascenseur sur 2 fois.

  What could be improved: Check-In war ein wenig kompliziert. Da mich ein Schlüsseltresor vor Ort erwartete, hätte man den Code bereits früher senden können und der Toröffner hätte man auch gleich im Tresor hinterlegen können.
  Eine Info, wo und wie man die Lampen einschalten kann hätte mir geholfen.
