You know what caught me off guard about this place? I mean, the name ROOFTOP CROISETTE/ALEXANDRE III sounds pretty fancy, but honestly, it’s the kind of spot that surprises you in the best way. I stayed here last spring when Cannes was just starting to buzz with pre-festival energy, and the location on Boulevard Eugène Tripet is actually perfect if you know the area – you’re literally steps from the Pointe Croisette but tucked away from the madness of the main drag.

The thing about being on the top floor (dernier étage, as they say) is that you get these incredible views over the Med without paying those insane beachfront prices. The building itself is part of Les Liserons, which honestly looks pretty modest from street level, but once you’re up there? Different story entirely. The rooftop setup gives you that whole Riviera panorama – you can see the Îles de Lérins on clear days, and the sunset views are genuinely spectacular. I spent way too many evenings just sitting up there with a bottle of rosé from the Monoprix down the street. The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing too fancy but they’ve got character – sort of that relaxed French coastal vibe without trying too hard. Air conditioning actually works (which, trust me, matters in July), and the windows open wide so you can hear the gentle hum of the city below mixed with distant waves.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually live in Cannes – they’d give you proper recommendations, not just the touristy stuff. Like, they told me about this little morning market on Rue Meynadier that I never would’ve found otherwise, and when I mentioned wanting to avoid the Boulevard de la Croisette crowds, they pointed me toward the coastal path that starts near Pointe Croisette. It’s maybe a three-minute walk from the hotel, and you can follow it all the way to Palm Beach if you’re feeling ambitious. Parking can be a bit tricky in this area – I mean, it’s Cannes, so that’s expected – but there’s a public garage nearby, and honestly, once you’re there, you barely need a car anyway. The whole Croisette is walkable, and the train station isn’t far if you want to explore Nice or Monaco. The 9.2 rating makes sense to me because it’s one of those places that just works – it’s not trying to be the Carlton or the Martinez, but it gives you that authentic Cannes experience without the ridiculous price tag. Plus, there’s something really satisfying about telling people you stayed “on the rooftop” in Cannes – it sounds way more glamorous than it costs, which is exactly what you want from a good travel find.

  We stayed for 3 weeks, so really got to experience the apartment and the area. The apartment is in a great location, walking distance to multiple beaches, bakeries, grocery stores, restaurants, etc. The view from the terrace is so beautiful. Also, the modern decor and renovation is really well done and makes the apartment feel fresh and stylish. The kitchen and living area are well stocked and we enjoyed cooking and having meals there.
  
  What could be improved: We were expecting a cleaner apartment upon arrival – the floors were dirty and turned our feet black, and when we asked for a mop to clean it, we were told we should buy one ourselves because there wasn't one in the apartment. Also, the rugs in the apartment were stained and difficult to clean, even after vaccuuming they were very dirty. The terrace, while beautiful, was also dirty – which I understand to some extent that its a vacation apartment and not being as closely maintained as a home, but there were leaves and dirt covering everything, including the furniture.

  Superbe logement dans un endroit très calme et très proche de la Croisette. Formidablement décorer et très bien équipé. Très agréable d’avoir du café, du sucre, des produits d’entretien à notre arrivée. Un logement au dessus de nos espérances 😀. Très belle terrasse et jardin sur le toit. Je le conseille fortement .
