Somptuous sea-view 3 bedrooms penthouse Cannes Mouré Rouge
Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of Cannes rentals, and this penthouse on Rue du Cros Vieil honestly surprised me. You know that sweet spot between the chaos of La Croisette and actually being able to hear yourself think? This place nails it. The Pointe Croisette location means you’re literally a five-minute walk from all the festival madness, but once you’re up in this third-floor space, it’s like you’ve escaped to your own private slice of the Riviera.
The sea views are the real deal – not some sliver of blue you have to crane your neck to glimpse. I’m talking about proper Mediterranean vistas that make you want to grab your coffee and just stand there like a tourist (which, let’s be honest, you probably are). The three bedrooms actually feel spacious, not like those cramped Parisian apartments where you’re basically sleeping in a closet. The master bedroom opens right onto the terrace, and honestly, waking up to that view never gets old. I mean, the decor isn’t going to win any design awards – it’s a bit dated in that particular French way – but everything’s clean and functional, which matters more when you’re dealing with sandy feet and beach gear.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. You’d think being this close to the action would mean constant noise, but the building’s set back just enough that you’re not dealing with drunk festival-goers stumbling around at 3 AM. The kitchen’s actually equipped for real cooking too – none of that two-burner nonsense you usually get in vacation rentals. There’s even a proper dishwasher, which saved my sanity after a few dinner parties on the terrace. Speaking of which, that outdoor space is where you’ll spend most of your time. It’s big enough for proper entertaining but not so massive that it feels empty when it’s just you and a glass of rosé watching the sunset.
The only thing I’d warn you about is parking – it’s Cannes, so good luck with that. But honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car much anyway. The Marché Forville is walkable for fresh produce, and all the beach clubs are within stumbling distance. The building itself is well-maintained, not fancy but solid, and the neighbors were actually pretty quiet during my stay in July (which is saying something for peak season). Check-in was smooth enough, though you’ll want to coordinate timing since there’s no front desk situation.
This isn’t a luxury resort experience – it’s more like borrowing a friend’s really nice place, if your friend happens to live in one of the most beautiful spots on the French Riviera. For families or groups who want space to spread out without paying Carlton prices, it’s pretty much perfect. Just don’t expect room service or concierge magic – but when you’re waking up to that view every morning, you probably won’t care.
