The location on Rue Meynadier is pretty much perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without paying Croisette prices. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals (where all the film festival madness happens), but you’re on this bustling pedestrian street that’s got everything – proper French bakeries, that amazing fishmonger who’s been there forever, and honestly some of the best people-watching in town. The street gets lively during the day with locals doing their shopping, but it actually quiets down nicely in the evenings, which is rare for this part of Cannes. The three bedrooms are well thought out – not huge by American standards, but cleverly designed in that French way where everything has its place. The kitchen actually works (you’d be surprised how many vacation rentals phone this in), and there’s enough space for six people without everyone stepping on each other.

What really impressed me was how the place manages to feel both local and polished. The building itself has that classic Cannes charm – you know, the kind with the wrought iron balconies and shutters that actually work – but inside it’s been renovated with someone who clearly gets what travelers need. Good wifi, decent water pressure, and thank god, proper blackout curtains because the summer sun here is no joke. Plus, being right in the city center means you can walk to the beach in about eight minutes (I timed it), hit the morning market for fresh everything, and if you’re here during festival season, you’re close enough to catch all the excitement but far enough to escape when it gets overwhelming. The Forville market is basically around the corner, and there’s this tiny wine bar – Cave Forville – that locals actually go to, not just tourists. Parking can be tricky in this area (it’s France, what do you expect?), but there are a couple of public garages within walking distance, and honestly, once you’re settled in, you won’t need a car anyway.
