When I walked in, honestly, it felt more like staying at a friend’s well-appointed pied-à-terre than some generic hotel room.

The studio itself is compact but thoughtfully laid out – I mean, they’ve really maximized every square meter without making it feel cramped. What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, which is honestly miraculous considering you’re in the heart of Cannes. The kitchenette is actually functional (rare for these tiny spaces), and there’s something oddly satisfying about making your morning coffee while watching the palm trees sway outside. The building has that classic French apartment feel – you know, the kind with the heavy front door that makes you feel like a local when you master the entry code. Parking can be a bit of a dance around here, but that’s Cannes for you during festival season or peak summer months.

What I really appreciate about staying here is the neighborhood vibe. You’re literally a five-minute walk from the beach, but more importantly, you’re surrounded by actual life – there’s a boulangerie around the corner where the locals grab their morning pastries, and the morning market isn’t some tourist trap but where people actually shop for dinner. The Axelle Loc’Appart folks seem to get that travelers want to feel like they belong somewhere, not just pass through. Sure, it’s not luxury – the bathroom is efficient rather than spacious, and don’t expect room service – but there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try to be more than it is. For the price point and that 8.2 rating, it delivers exactly what it promises: a clean, comfortable base in one of the most expensive cities on the Côte d’Azur where you won’t blow your entire budget on accommodation alone.

  Location was great
  
  What could be improved: It is very small, and due to the sheer number of white goods, every electric socket is overloaded. On my second night I had to spend a long time trying to fix a power cut as the circuit breaker kept activating. Contacting the host was no use as messages weren't read for hours. Also, unless I missed it, there is no huge mirror hiding the kitchen area as depicted in the photo.
