You know what caught me off guard about Studio Suquet 3? The name makes it sound like some artsy loft, but it’s actually this solid little hotel tucked right into the heart of Cannes on Boulevard Victor Tuby. I mean, you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals – I timed it because I’m that kind of person – and honestly, the location alone makes up for any quirks the place might have. The building itself has that classic French charm you’d expect, though don’t go in expecting palatial luxury at three stars. What you get instead is something more genuine: decent-sized rooms (the “studio” part actually means something here), clean bathrooms, and windows that actually open so you can hear the city waking up in the morning.

The staff deserves a mention because they’re the type who remember your name after day two, which is pretty rare in Cannes where everyone’s either rushing to a festival screening or pretending they’re more important than they are. Check-in was smooth – none of that pretentious nonsense you sometimes get at fancier places along the Croisette. The rooms are what I’d call thoughtfully simple: you’ve got your kitchenette setup (really handy for breakfast or late-night snacks since room service can get pricey), decent Wi-Fi that actually works, and air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a helicopter landing. The beds are comfortable enough, though the pillows are a bit soft for my taste – but that’s me being picky. One thing to note: if you’re a light sleeper, ask for a room facing away from the boulevard because Victor Tuby can get a bit lively, especially during festival season when everyone’s wandering around at all hours.

Here’s the thing about this place – it sits in that sweet spot where you’re close enough to everything that matters but far enough from the chaos of the main tourist strips. Walk ten minutes and you’re at the old port area where locals actually eat (try the little café on the corner of Rue Saint-Antoine if you want proper coffee). The beach is right there, obviously, but more importantly, you can actually get to the train station without needing a taxi if you’re continuing on to Nice or Monaco. Parking’s always a nightmare in Cannes, but there’s a public garage about three blocks away that won’t completely destroy your budget. Look, Studio Suquet 3 won’t blow your mind, but it’ll take care of you properly while you’re exploring one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline in France. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need – a comfortable base that doesn’t try too hard to impress you but just gets the job done really well.

  the place is a standard en suite apartment with all the necessary facilities and accessories. Relatively clean and in a great location just a stone throw distance from the old town and ten mins walk to the main port. Host was great and very supportive and on hand.
  
  What could be improved: Parking is an issue and needs to be paid in the public parking area. The other noticeable observation is that the toilet/w/c is very small and does occassionaly block due to a lack of compartmentalisation with the various fittings.
