You know what struck me first about Suite Sandra? The address alone tells you everything – Rue du Général Ferrié puts you right in the thick of Cannes’ city center, but it’s actually one of those quiet residential streets that locals prefer. I mean, you’re literally a three-minute walk from the Palais des Festivals (where they do the whole film festival thing), but somehow you escape all that tourist chaos once you turn onto this street.

The apartment itself is honestly impressive for what they’re calling a 3-star place – feels more luxurious than that rating suggests. The owners clearly put thought into the details that actually matter when you’re staying somewhere. The kitchen is properly equipped, not just the usual sad mini-fridge and hotplate situation you get in most hotel rooms. I appreciated being able to grab fresh produce from the Marché Forville (that’s the main market, about a five-minute walk) and actually cook something decent. The bathroom has this rainfall shower that’s genuinely nice, and the water pressure is solid – small thing, but you know how hit-or-miss that can be in older French buildings.

What really sets this place apart is the location knowledge you gain just by staying here. You’re close enough to walk to the Croisette when you want that famous waterfront scene, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the cruise ship crowds at 8 AM. There’s this little café around the corner – I won’t spoil the discovery – where locals actually go for morning coffee. The street itself is pretty quiet at night, which surprised me given how central it is. Parking can be tricky during festival season (well, everything’s tricky then), but the rest of the year it’s manageable. The building has that classic French apartment feel without being stuffy about it. Check-in was smooth, and the hosts actually gave useful recommendations instead of just handing over tourist brochures. Honestly, with that perfect 10 rating, I was expecting to find some catch, but the place delivers on what it promises – a proper luxury apartment experience in the heart of Cannes without the hotel markup or attitude.
