You know what struck me first about this little studio on Boulevard Montfleury? It’s actually in La Californie – and I mean the real La Californie, not some tourist trap with a fancy name. This is where Cannes locals go when they want to escape the madness of the Croisette but still be close enough to walk to everything that matters. The building sits on this tree-lined street that feels surprisingly quiet considering you’re literally fifteen minutes on foot from the Palais des Festivals.

The studio itself is exactly what it promises – superbe might be pushing it slightly, but honestly, it’s got that French apartment charm that makes you feel like you’re actually living in Cannes rather than just visiting. The space is smart without being cramped, and whoever set it up clearly knows what travelers actually need. I loved that the kitchen had proper coffee gear (not just some sad instant coffee situation), and the bathroom had enough shelf space for all your beach stuff. The bed was comfortable enough that I didn’t spend the night listening to springs creak every time I moved. Small things, but they matter when you’re trying to unwind after walking the festival crowds or spending a day getting sun-drunk on the beaches.

Here’s the thing about the location that really sold me – you can actually walk to both the glamorous bits and the real Cannes without feeling like a tourist trapped in a bubble. Head one direction and you’ll hit Plage du Martinez or the public beaches near the old port, where the water’s that ridiculous Mediterranean blue and you can people-watch for hours. Go the other way and you’re wandering through the old town markets on Rue Meynardier, grabbing actual groceries instead of overpriced hotel snacks. The Palais is close enough that you could stumble back after a late screening without paying for a taxi, but far enough that you’re not dealing with the constant noise and chaos of the festival crowds. I mean, Boulevard Montfleury can get a bit busy during rush hour, but it’s nothing compared to the tourist circus closer to the water. Plus, there’s usually parking available on the side streets if you’re driving – something that’s basically impossible near the main hotels during festival season. At 8.5 out of 10, it’s hitting that sweet spot where you get the Cannes experience without the Cannes headaches.

  What could be improved: Problème lors de la première nuit concernant le chauffage qui tournait à fond. Nous avons réussi la deuxième nuit à baisser le chauffage top.
