Hotel Description

You know what caught me off guard about The View Studio? The name actually delivers – and I mean that literally. When you’re staying on Avenue de Grasse, you’re basically perched on one of those streets that winds up from central Cannes, so you get these glimpses of the Mediterranean that most tourists never see from their fancy Croisette hotels. It’s about a 15-minute walk down to all the festival madness, but honestly, that distance is perfect. You can escape the crowds when you need to breathe.

The studio itself feels more like staying at a design-conscious friend’s place than a typical hotel room. Everything’s compact but thoughtfully laid out – the kind of space where someone actually considered how you’d live in it for a few days. The kitchen setup is surprisingly functional (I managed to make proper coffee and even cooked a simple dinner with ingredients from the little Monoprix nearby). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Avenue de Grasse has some traffic during the day, but it’s nothing like the constant hum you get closer to the port. You’ll actually sleep here.

The neighborhood surprised me too. There’s this authentic Cannes feeling that you miss when you’re staying right in the tourist zone. You’ve got locals walking their dogs in the morning, that perfect little boulangerie about three blocks down where the woman behind the counter will absolutely judge your French pronunciation (but she makes incredible pain au chocolat), and you’re close enough to the train station that day trips to Nice or Monaco are completely doable. Sure, it’s a 3-star place, so don’t expect marble bathrooms or concierge service, but the 8.2 rating makes sense – it’s the kind of spot that does what it promises really well. The check-in was smooth, the space was clean and stylish, and I left feeling like I’d actually experienced Cannes rather than just visited it. If you want to feel less like a tourist and more like you’re temporarily living somewhere beautiful, this works.

  The best thing about the property is the view. In principle, the apartment has a lot of potential had it been properly maintained. It also had almost everything for a short-term stay.
  
  What could be improved: The apartment is facing a very busy road with the traffic 24/7. Noise isolation in the apartment is non-existent. You had a feeling that you’re sleeping right next to the road. The sofa bed is extremely uncomfortable. The walls and the ceiling had cracks in them. The agency owning the apartment didn’t even care to buy the cheapest soap for the apartment, let alone shower gel. Communication is chaotic, however I did appreciate flexibility with regards to the late check-out.
